thanks for the info. I went with the Bushnell Scout 1000. $251.00 from Amazon. the ARC will come in very handy in my hilly neck of the woods.

While you guys are thinking about laser range finders, what is a decent one - say good to 600-700yds - at a mid level price? Mono or bi. easy to use.

Is a rangefinder really necessary?
Not if you have a trustworthy friend or squadmate with one. I don't have one that works worth a durn, but it is still on my list so I'll know what I don't have.
A lot of the stuff on my list is not necessary or even desirable except for certain events.

Here is a list on Word. Basicaly all inclusive for 3-Gun, Knob Creek or practice.

I have a Benelli M-2 (Salient). I am consistently shooting low, especially at close in targets. I think I need to raise the stock drop to raise my point of impact. However, the Benelli instructions are not helpful. If I am hitting low, do I raise the stock drop? Is that the same as raising the "drop value at heel"? Any other hints would be appreciated. Thanks.

very cool. I thought the shotgun vid was great. better video action than the rifle, with the busting clays.

I suffered through some of this. It may be that the top round in full mag - especially if you are at slide lock - is hitting the ejector. I am told this is a common problem with 9mm single stacks. It will cause a jam and break/loosen the ejector. Take the slide off and check how it looks when inserting a full mag. my gunsmith shaved a little off the ejector. there are other solutions. Ask Virgil Tripp about this issue.

Let's see - you're 22. I'm 55. So, ... no.

How many shots over 200? I'm trying to decide between a 1.5 x 5 Leupold on a 20 " rifle or or a 1 - 4 Accupoint on an 18" . I'd much rather shoot the 18" with Accupoint, but not if tons of long range.

Based on past years (any any new intel available) what can we expect for the long shots for rifle and slugs? What is best guess for the # of shots at various longer distances?

It was pretty clear, but then as a lawyer I thought I could construe it some other way and make an argument to the contrary.

is the practice page, i.e. this: http://www.lchico5u.com/ar15.html where we go to sign up tomorrow night?

Shotgun, rifle, pistol. Juat switched to Benelli and weak hand loading. new challenge! Doubt there will be many 3-gunners that pick pistol first. I think most of us got into this game because we like the long guns better - or at least can shoot them better.

I don't intend to discourage anyone from participating in our governmental decision making process. However, our current Attorney General is less likely to expand his interpretation of "sporting purposes" to include our sport than he is to whistle Dixie during his next meeting with the President.

two points:
1. What a great web site is this! Those in positons of power actually seek out feedback here.
2. This is only going to REALLY encourage the bitchin and moanin about all manner of things!
Break out the soapboxes ... a crowd is gathering!

So Glock 35, ISMI 13lb recoil spring, minus 3 coils, is good to go for light load/minor .40? is that the concensus?

when i say a new diffusion choke, i mean new to me. i used the Brileys from Power Factor. i had no misses on the clays at 25 yds today, and shot probably at least 10 - 15 at that distance. all were busted, not just nicked. Like I say the steel was another story until i got closer. I put a few on paper and they were very dispersed but pretty consistent. anecdotal, but convincing to me.
-
a new diffusion choke on 24" and 21" BEnellis will bust a clay very well at 25 yds but steel falls very slow if at all. at 15 yds all is good, and the plates come right off the Texas star. However, not all Texas stars are created equal, so YMMD. also, I am not talking about super heavy steel, like you might find at TAC-2 or Knob Creek.

i'm sure this is a stupid question, but what does "fat free" mean? regular dustcover as opposed ot long heavy dustcover?

MLK may postpone your delivery till Tuesday. I suspect UPS is observant of that holiday.

I used to use a mixture of Kroil and Shooters Choice. Recommended by a very successful long range shooter. Seemed to work well but that Kroil is pretty potent. I am getting more and more sensitive to solvents (and perfumes, lotions, etc) as I get older. Raw throat and headache even in well ventilated area.
Lately I usually just use the Breakfree CLP (the one with some cleaner agent) and it does not bother me. Although I don't think it works nearly as well.
Anybody know of any kinder gentler stuff that works?

this is really amazing music. my son saw them in concert and said he and every one else there was blown away. very optimistic but edgy stuff.

will the 46" bags close with a Benelli with 24" barrel and extended choke?
