    Ed,

If you scroll through, you can see that the changes and new rules have a "bullet point" or a dot in front of the rule number.  The first example saw just on a quick scan was 3.2.4 which adds Production Optic Firearm as a new category under Firearms, Equipment and Ammunition.  Others include but aren't limited to: 3.8, Stocks; 4.3.2, Alternate Falling Plate Target Rimfire; 7.19, Barricade Event - Modified; 9.9, Weighing Triggers; 10.15, Specific Rules for Conduct of the Barricade Event - Modified; 10.33, Specific Rules for the Conduct of the Practical Short Course Event.....Well you get the idea.

The changes/additions are pretty easy to spot once you try it.  The list grows after 10.33 to include several new courses that are fired as "Short Course" events.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks for pointing that out...that does help.

    Hogue website says "in stock".

At the same price as usual.

Thanks...their price shipped is $90 (can't locate any discount codes) Gunbroker has them for the N frame for about $67 shipped...significant price difference.  Found a couple of sources for K frame round butt grips but the K frame square butt #10006 is a rare beast.  I know the RB would work...but would rather get a set of  the correct SB grips.

  3. Just did a little 50 yard prone shooting out in the snow today and realized I better think about some kind of rest for the bottom of my action pistol revolver. (Model 64 square butt)  Have Hogue open back-strap rubber grips on there now but will need to improvise  some kind of butt support - if you folks have any ideas.  Prefer not to use wood grips.

In the meantime check out this unit:

Give them a call tomorrow and you can get what you want to know over the phone.  The lady who handles the calls is Terry, very friendly and easy to get along with.  There is a 20% Club discount and prices come down the more you order, naturally.  Our last order was for 1,200 so the price was $62.40/100 = $748.80.  We're only a couple hundred miles away from them and shipping was $77.86 for the 12 boxes of 100 each.  That worked out to $68.88/100, or ~$.69 per target with shipping included.

If you don't want/need that many you might consider getting together with another club in your area to boost the total number of targets ordered.  That's what we did.  Hope this helps.

Thanks again..I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Here's your best bet that cuts out the "middle-man".

The one you pictured is only used at Bianchi Cup with the notches at the bottom.  The others available have 2 holes on the bottom and another on the top for mounting purposes.  The black 4" centers have been around for about 10 years or so now.

Thanks for the info...went to the site and they ask for every bit of info about you before giving a shipping cost...prefer shipping costs up front.

  6. Thanks K-Texas...I sent the pic to Lee and they got back to me...it's a 9mm float die. Years ago I loaded 38 Colt short brass with the 38/357 dies and used that 9mm float die to crimp the 38 Colt short rounds. Found the proper 38/357 float die in the 9mm box.  (been over 20 years since I last reloaded) Attached a pic of the correct setup.

  7. About 25 years ago I built a mover target using the two buried posts, cable and trolley method. Used a Ford Taurus 12v electric radiator fan motor, w/approx 1" pulley  to move the nylon cord to drive the trolley 70'.  Used (2) double paddle double throw (DPDT) relays to change directions via wired foot switch.  Worked very well.

Been thinking about about "possibly" setting up another using a rail trolley system with 12v DC permanent magnet motor. The trolley would carry the (protected:-) 12v motor,  battery, DPDT relays but this time I would use wireless relay switches.

Just shopping around for some ideas while the snow keeps coming down up here.  What would be helpful is if anyone is using the 12v DC system:  which 12v motor did you use, ie 1800 or 3000 RPM, watt or HP rating. (110v AC or generator is not an option for my location).

Asking because I spotted some old posts on this forum where the folks were offering mover plans.

    Thanks

  8. Trying to understand what the Multi-Gun Match is ...from the 2019 flyer:

MULTI-GUN DIVISIONS Competitors may register in the Multi-Gun Match as an individual under a different division than the division used during the Championship. A second firearm not used in the main championship will be inspected for use in the Multi-Gun Match. See Section 3 of the Action Pistol rulebook for details.

  9. +2 On the accuracy test, recently purchased a Taurus Tracker w/6.5" ported barrel in stainless. Grabbed it because it was brand new and under $300.  Beautiful  looking gun, action was understandably stiff, but lock-up and timing was super.  Was considering using it as an action pistol gun since it was a medium frame comparable to a S&W L frame.

After getting it home I got out my gauges to check internal fitment etc. As mentioned timing, cylinder alignment and lock-up are spot on....just feels like a great gun. Where I noticed a problem is with cylinder run out. It runs from .003 to .005..the .003 was limited to one chamber. (NOTE: forcing cone and extractor base were clean)

The forcing cone gives me the most concern.  Dropped my Brownells go-no go gauge in and it seats well beyond the no-go level. Pics attached, for comparison dropped the gauge it in my well used S&W 686 and the gauge stills rests at the "go" level.  Contacted Taurus  (with pics), without explanation they simply replied that the "everything is within specs and acceptable tolerance".

In all fairness still haven't fired a round with it yet...but am really interested in seeing your accuracy results...since the Taurus 692 is the one I really wanted.  Comparing the 38/357 against the 9mm cylinder would be great.

  10. Thanks for the info...very interesting...looking at your links I assume you are associated with  the Stick Shift?  FYI: I just can't find any videos demonstrating how the Stick Shift is used (functions) so I can get an idea of it's physical dimensions etc. I have cleaned the mover a few times years ago and was considering giving action pistol another try:-)

Point of impact on the mover would be sure be nice.
