Randy is hoping September... My unofficial update is I'm 750 rounds of testing in and have not had any brass to the face in that 750, I did find that Remington UMC does eject over my head on occasion but it did the same with my buddies 2006ish Glock 19 Gen 3. I'm chalking that up to being crappy ammo as it even grouped horribly at a measley 7 yards while other ammo can produce one ragged whole consistently.

I don't think there are plans for a .40 extractor right now.

Long story short, my made in March 2012 Gen 4 G19 ejects erratically including to my face with all the latest factory parts. Apex Tactical chose 10 people to test their latest prototype which I was one of them, initial testing discovered a sticking striker block on mine which was due to a missing bevel that you will see in the video. After sending it back for analysis they made the adjustment, sent it back and I had 400 rounds with no cases to the face. I only tested the extractor so far as I misplaced the heavier spring that was included. I tried many of the fixes presented on this and other forums but never obtained adequate results (read: they never quite fixed the problem.) Recently, my friend Randy Lee reached out and sent me a prototype of their extractor for Glock. Not only has it made ejection more brisk and consistent, my 17 RTF now ejects cases without a magazine inserted. This is something none of the Glocks I have ever shot have ever done in any consistent fashion. This is typically a test we do in our 1911 classes to evaluate optimal extractor function as the 1911 is prone to a nasty malfunction where an empty case can be dragged into the feed lips of a magazine should the extractor have less than optimal function. The feed lip geometry of the Glock is not prone to this like that of the 1911 so it's not critical in the platform, but the test is still valid in the context of evaluating optimal extractor function, assuming the extractor doesn't have so much tension that it prevents the pistol from feeding. There are a few reasons they are making this trigger for the DCAEK and AEK: 1. It removes some of the pre-travel that the Apex sear adds over the factory sear that some did not like. 2. Some people do not like the hinged setup. 3. People invested into the DCAEK or AEK wanted some of the benefits of the FSS without starting over from scratch or spending more $$$. 4. It's supposed to remove some over-travel as well. I can't wait to try it out to share my experience.

It's a T&E barrel, they're looking for 2" or less 10 round groups at 25 yards.

My second day and a couple hundred rounds later and I'll say that it does help while prepping the trigger after reset but is not a huge difference over the good reset I already had with my Apex installed DCAEK. Would I put one in a M&Pc that I'm buying? Absolutely!

Many of them are traveling from across the country and some are coming half way around the world for our annual Revolverfest. This year’s IRC is larger than it’s ever been and the prize table is far more extensive than anytime before. I’ve heard rumors from a very reliable source that aside from the normal prize table, the following items are going to be raffled off to the shooters: RCBS 2000 Pro Progressive Reloader RCBS Bullet Feeder 5 S&W M&P Pistols and 7 Revolvers That’s a pretty hefty raffle table if you ask me. It seems the clocks are spinning at twice their normal rate this week, as we all prepare for the match. Lisa, Randy and I each loaded up our match ammo over this past weekend, 500 rounds a piece of 170 gr. lead goodness. Lisa made us a handful of dummies for practice, so we’ve all been practicing sticking our reloads over and over again, and when we’re done with that, we practice some more. I put in 2 solid hours of dry fire last night with my gun, most of that consisted of reloading the gun. The reason I practice the reload so much, isn’t because I want to be a fast reloader, it’s because I’ve shot autos for so long that I’m afraid I’m gonna try to stick a moonclip into the butt of the revolver and somebody will snap a picture at just the right moment. We’re estimating nearly 90% of the shooters at this year’s IRC have Apex Parts or Apex Action Work on their S&W revolvers. We’re going to see everything from our Competition Firing Pin Kits to full custom guns on the range this weekend. This is promising to be great fun and an awesome match. I’m shooting a S&W 627 with a Ti Cylinder, Apex Hammer, Competition Firing Pin kit and Level 4 Action work. We’re all shooting 170 gr. RN bullets in Remington Brass with federal primers, all held together with the best of the best Hearthco Moonclips. We’re using CR Speed belts and Holsters to carry our gear. Randy and Lisa have Johnson Precision Mag Racks that carry 8 moon clips a piece on magnetic posts for super fast grabs on the reload.

Well here is my first unsupported 25 yard group from my first range trip with my stock FS 9mm (My first time ever shooting an M&P period). Previously reported elsewhere: http://www.thegunvault.org/forums/showthread.php?1393-Project-M-P-9mm-ver-Apex-Tactical-Specialties&p=29613&viewfull=1#post29613 ~260 rounds of PMC, Lawmen and 124gr +P Ranger-T with no malfunctions, a better sight picture and the trigger is fantastic as I previously reported so I can actually feel a reset. I'm still trying to figure out which grip insert I need to stick with between the small and medium as I'm having problems with a consistent grip and need to re-adjust more often than I'd like. The gun did not seem to like the powder puff PMC and preferred the hotter Lawmen and Ranger-T +P, so I'm going to experiment with different plinking ammo to see what works the most consistently. Here is two 25 yard groups with the Ranger-T of 5 rounds each since it's a little expensive to replace: This one isn't too bad And my second time last night after getting it back from Apex Tactical with the DCAEK, FR Extractor and Heinie Ledge sights installed and sighted in. I ran out of targets and had to buy another from the range counter, I should have quit while I was ahead (same distance): Where did the 5th round go? 6 o'clock of the target on the backing Next time I'm going at the start of a day and not the end where I'm tired.
