  1. Just got back from this match. It was a very good show for a new club.

Nice meeting Foilhat who drove all the way down & shot with us.

Sorry we missed you Brad. Thanks for looking out for us!

Thanks to everyone who helped make the match possible.

It is a very nice complex. It is so big it took us a few minutes to drive down & find where the match was being held.

If you haven't made it, you ought to make the trip at least once. (You probably already have if you shoot trap in the midwest.)

There is a very nice resturant right on the complex where you can have a good meal & beverage after the match. (I think that the meal afterward was probably the best stage in my match performance today.)

If the berms being considered become reality this might be a future candidate for a sectional or area match.

The Cowboy shooters have a great setup.

    Sent a PM,

Just got done switching parts on a second gun. I need to get out and shoot this thing, I got it in a trade and have only shot 16 rounds out of it. Hope you guys have a good match at PASA. I drove over to Barry and then decided to save the motel money and use it to fix my pistol. It was going to the smith next week after the Milan shoot, but now there is one more thing for him to work on.

All though it was probably my worst match to date, I enjoyed shooting with you guys and had a great time. The meal was good and the complex was very nice. I'll be heading to Sparta next time I have the opportunity.

Hope to see you guys soon,

    Pat

  2. I have a pocket Pro II that I really like. Simple, fairly rugged and not too expensive. A timer is a great investment for your shooting improvement. Lot of people including myself use the par time function while dry firing to improve draw times, transitions, reloads, etc.

Check out this thread for a TON of info on timers: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14608&hl=best%20timer&st=0

Are you talking about a Pocket Pro 2? How do you use it for drills without shooting live ammo to trigger the counter?

You can use the par time feature. Set it for 1.5 sec or so for draw or reload, two beeps one to start and one at the end of the time you set. It does not keep shot strings without live ammo, if that's what you were asking. Also has a delay feature at the start of the beep.

  3. I just checked my springs for the P6. A year or two ago I bought a set of Wolf reduced power springs for P6/P225. I just went and checked the old spring with the new ones. The old spring is about a coil 1/2 shorter than the new springs I have.

I remember when I changed out the springs, the new one seemed harder to compress and install. I started with a 17# spring and had a few light strikes. I changed to a 18# spring and have not had any problems so far. If I remember correctly the newer guns (225) have a different boot at the bottom. This may be the reason for the spring length or is the original shorter due to years of compression?

As I said, I went with a 18# spring and it was a little longer. My trigger pull was reduced and feels much better.

    Good luck,

    Pat

  4. I've been doing it for so long... I forgot one little detail. :) Close your eyes real tight, (the part I forgot) look upward as high as you can, then quickly open your eyes. And you'll see the weirdness before your eyes are opened.

I just tried this in a lighted room. Closed my eyes real tight and looked upward as high as I could. I saw little white dots, like stars in the night sky. They were moving in a circular pattern. Oh, I was standing up and got dizzy, you didn't warn me about that. :D
