<--- In December I was given an odd piece of equipment for a new job assignment. I have since been issued new equipment and started training. I did get to keep the purple helmet, but you won't catch me with it out in public.

The range I go to has a few old railroad ties holding up a target backstop... someone pulled the iron base plates for the track.. they are probably 1/2" - 5/8" thick... and at 100yds hold up very well to ball ammo... they didn't even show any signs of damage from SS109s (M855).
Worked great for pistol but if the shape bothers you then its probably not for you.
I was told by people that you can get those a dime a dozen if you find a railroad place.

I have several of these plates and they hold up very well. I just stopped and asked a worker for a few when they were working on a section of track. The shape is a little odd but the price is right.

I live like no one else, so no debt, very few bills, all the extra money goes to guns, airplanes, and retirement funds.
All of our loans are paid off. Still have two kids to claim, but will end up paying around 31k. The boss has her own business and we both get to pay in. I think about the taxes every time I'm in line and someone is buying snacks and single bottles of pop with a link card. A person would not want to buy good food for those kids or at least buy the pop by the twelve pack or case.

We had 18 inches of snow and large drifts. I80 was shut down and we were parking trucks on every empty lot. I got stuck sitting on a highway telling people the road was closed. Most people want to argue, what do I know? I'm just the guy with the flashing lights on my car.

I had VZ Operator II's first and liked them. I wanted just a little more grip and changed to VZ Recons. I called and had them make a set without the bottom edge beveled.

With all of this happy 1-9-11 day talk going on, I went out and got my 6th one. A used Kimber Heritage Edition. It looked liked it needed a good home and a role as a back up pistol for matches.
