  1. I just changed my front and rear sights to warren tactical. The rear sight can be moved side to side with my fingers. I can tighten the set screw and it seems to hold well but makes me uneasy. Is the sight going to stay put with a set screw and a little loctite?
  2. Official answer is yes, they can be modified. The production rules don't cover magazines much, and don't address basepads. The gun must make weight and fit in the box. Troy
  3. Since I live in California I do not have the option of putting the compact base pads on. I have the 10 round magazine's that have that 1 inch plastic base. You said that this did not used to be the case. So just to confirm before I start grinding. It is OK now to grind them down?
  4. I live in California so my M&p mags have the large plastic base to them. Is it legal to file down the size of the base pad so that it does not stick out as far and still be legal for production?
  5. So my handgun would have about the same number of rounds as yours when the slide lock broke. Was it still functional when it broke? Did it just not lock back or is it a failure that would cause you to DNF on a stage.
  6. I bought my Smith & Wesson M&p pro 5 inch 9 mm with about 5000 rounds on it. When I got it I install an apex competition action enhancement kit. Since then I've put an additional 7000 rounds on the gun. What should I replace at this point? What should I replace at what intervals? I shoot 147gr bayou bullets minor power factor. right now the gun runs perfect but I don't want a failure in a match. 1. New Recoil spring 13lbs? 2.do I need a new guild rod and if so should I go tungsten? 3. Apex competition spring kit? 4.Striker? 5. Slide stop? Not shure if any or all needs to be replaced or if I am overlooked something.
  7. Have you been able to compare the venom to either the delta point pro or the Trijicon Rmr?
  8. looking to mill the slide on an sp01 for an optic. To shoot carry optics. That is the best optic? I was thinking delta point pro, or rm06 at the top of the list or maybe Burris fast fire, or vortex viper. This gun will be used for many years to come so I don't mind, too much, paying more to get a better optic. Which one will last on the slide and offer the most advantage?
  9. So how much is the savings to build the ultimate production gun if I do it myself?
  10. If I can save money and it will come out just as good. This will be for me and my son to share. It will most likely be used for many years to come. So I don't mind paying a little more to send it to a gun smith if that makes it better. I am all for doing it myself if it will come out just as good.
  11. I live in California and looking to upgrade my USPSA production gun. I am looking at a cz sp01. Who will will produce the best gun when done working on it? Or are there any differences between cz custom, automatic accuracy, or Cajun.?
  12. I have had one there for a little while. No response. That s lot but it may be worth it. Thanks
  13. I have purchased an rm06 to try out carry optics. If I like it then I will have my slide milled. I was hoping to find an rm45 mounting plate for the M&p. is there any one out there who would like to sell one cheap or lone one for a few week?
  14. So which one do you like better so far. Rm07 0or rm06
  15. I am thinking of selling an original delta point 7.5 sight. Use very little. What do you think they are worth?
  16. That stinks. I was told I could do that. Basically make my own core. Living in California makes this difficult. I can't get another M&p pro. I can't buy a core, or glock Mos. i have to modify my gun, a gun that I can't get any more, so that I can't use it for production or a production back up. Smith and Wesson won't sell just a core slide to go on my frame. But we have nice weather. ? Any one want to sell a core slide?Or trade for a pro longs slide?
  17. A few places will mill the slide and also make a cover plate. There is still room for a glock dove tail to be put behind the optic. Then you can go back to irons and still be legal for production w the cover plate.
  18. I wanted to shoot production and carry optics in the same match and was hoping that with the slide milled the index would be close to the same.
  19. Suarez said their is not room on the M&p for a deltapoint pro. Which is incorrect. ATEi will mill the slide and there is still room for a glock dove tail in the rear.
  20. I have checked into milling my m&p slide for a delta point pro. The milling removes the factory dove tail. A glock dove tail can be cut behind the milled section for suppressor sights. I don't want to co witness. But can I go back to some type or regular iron sights like warren. Regular height. If I did that then it looks like they would hang off the back of the gun.
  21. With the sight sitting that high is there any reason to buy a core. Why not just use a dove tail mount on a regular M&p?
  22. I am in California so a core is out. I put an add in the classifieds here looking to buy just a core slide but have had no response. I could dove tail mount something but I don't like the idea of ithe optic being so high. I wanted to shoot my production M&p at the same match and have the index be close.
  23. I was going to mill one of my M&P slides for an optic. This may be a stupid question but is carry optics a permanent division? I don't want to put money into a gun and then find out that they have decided there is not enough interest and then scrap the division. How much advantage is shooting a heavier cz vs an M&P?
