  1. I registered for the match right when registration opened since I didn't know how much interest there would be. It looks like quite a few other people have registered and several squads are full. I really like the idea of 2 gun matches so as soon as I heard this match was happening I wanted to shoot it. Now the question is what pistol to shoot for open division, a G17 with a slide mounted dot and comp (that I've used for multigun matches) or a 2011 shooting major PF. The PCC I'm planning to shoot uses Glock magazines so the thought behind the G17 is magazine compatibility, but I don't know if that is even something to be concerned about.
  2. I have to agree that the match was great, and I had a fun time shooting again with the High Life crew. The best part was the auction at the end of the first half, specifically Iain with the beer and entrenching tool!
  3. I CRO'ed a stage at Area 1 this year and when the squad of local shooters came through, I asked my 2 out of town RO's to run them so there was no question of favortisim or anything else like that. It just seemed like the right thing to do. And as others have said, I always hold the timer back for the score keeper to see while giving the ULSC command.
  4. Stage 8 was fun using a pistol caliber carbine! Unfortunately my shooting buddy was DQ'd on that stage leaving me to be the only trooper in our squad (and since he rode with me he had to stay for rest of the match). He fumbled his rifle reloading on the barricade and broke the 180. Our squad started the match with 13 and ended with 9, all DQ's Our last stage was 5, the the exit of the tunnel was challenging in the mud, I slipped and fell after ditching the stage pistol and then fell again trying to get back up, good thing no one was back there to see it, not my most graceful moments in the match.
  5. Called back to the USPSA office on Monday to confirm I would take the slot offered to me. I guess it was for a high in Area placement in B Class Production (I was not first). A very pleasant surprise to say the least.
  6. No, you have to mail it in within 7 days. The way I read the email I got was the payment was due within 7 days of acceptance of the registration. I take that to mean that once you get an email confirming you are in you have 7 days. If that's wrong someone please tell me!
  7. Awesome, Thanks Tom!! It was great shooting with all you guys. A good squad can make a match so much more enjoyable. I look goofy in the second picture, but I was freaking excited to have finished this match. It was a beast. Jerome It was great shooting with you guys too! What a great squad, everyone helped reset the stages, and the mood was very relaxed which made shooting the match that much more enjoyable (not to mention relieve some of the stress from being at my first Nationals). It was great that the whole squad finished the match even with the close call. Thanks guys! ETA: Whoooo first post!!!
