So does the "02" spring improve reliability as well, especially with low powered target ammo? I also have a Gen4 G17, but my problems aren't as bad as you were having. I have on average about 1 FTE/stovepipe out of every 100 rounds of low powered target ammo like WWB and Federal Champion. When using full powered, NATO spec, or +P ammo, I have only had 1 FTE/stovepipe out of about 500 rounds.
Although 1 out of 100 with target ammo isn't bad, it is still annoying, especially if it happens during a match. Since I am not yet set up to reload(currently saving up my pennies for a Dillon), it would be nice to be able to shoot the lower powered inexpensive target ammo without having to worry about a malfunction. When I do start reloading, it would be nice to be able to run minor, about 130PF ,loads without issues as well.
Because of this experience I also called Glock for the new recoil spring assembly. I just received and installed it today. It does feel a little easier to retract the slide with the new spring, but honestly, it doesn't feel that much lighter. I am hoping to run at least a couple hundred rounds of target ammo through it this weekend to test it out.
Now I am wondering if I should just go ahead and order an aftermarket guide rod and spring also. If I do, which spring weight, 13# or 15#? Is it even legal for Production Division?
Thanks for your help, and sorry for the slight hijack.
