What targets do you all like to use for group testing at 100-300 yards?

My 3 Gun AR has a free float tube.
I was watching footage of Marines shooting M16A4 rifles at something like 500 Meters. Those rifles had a rail handguard a which were not free float.
I would think the pressure they placed on the handguard while shooting prone (no sling) could not be any less than the pressure a 3 gun shooter places on the fore end in a similar shooting situation, or even if the fore end is rested on a surface.
It got me wondering.. Does a three gun shooter who does not use a bipod or shooting sling, really need a free float tube on rifle with a standard weight barrel?

What is the msrp?

Who makes the British barrels with no hole?

Whomever said USPSA RO's are merely timer stands is one ignorant character. They do plenty.
There are unfortunately, haters in both camps. When I started running USPSA matches at my home club the USPSA old guard made note if my IDPA affiliations and declared I was a "spy". LOL
There are jerks everywhere.

I used to get tortured by this one guy who was just a tool. Best solution was an iPod. Never heard him again.

This is the link for CT shooters. Perhaps you clicked on another area's link.
Other than that, you can contact SOEducation@idpa.com

Yes. At majors, the Score Keeper usually makes the cover and target engagement calls, which frees the SO up to watch the shooter and gun more.

I have forward falling steel from MGM and Gunsteel.
The MGM is the way to go. Its chief advantage over the gunsteel is the fact that it can be calibrated using the bolts. The gunsteel poppers cannot. They need to be propped up on a board if the ground is not level.
The MGM forward falling steel make for a shorter day. When I have a steel heavy match and need to bring out my Gunsteel poppers, I brace myself for some reshoots.

Not a heck of a lot of people make a full time living instructing. I do not want to smash your dream, but consider using those GI benefits for something that is more marketable or crosses over several industries.
My sister loved theater and wanted to major in it. My dad made a deal whereby she double majored in business and theater. Her acting career never took off but now she is the managing director of a theater and making six figures. You could probably get a degree in business AND learn to be an instructor with those benefits.
You can make a few bucks standing on a line and teaching, but there is a lot of money to be made on the sales and marketing end too. A business degree could help you land a job at a firearms company as a sales rep for instance. I'm a plumber by trade and my grandfather was fond of saying that a man can make a living with a bucket of tools, but the guy selling the job makes a hell of a lot more money and comes home clean every night.
With an education you can keep many doors open while pursuing your dream.

looked at something on craigslist. Guy wanted $250. I saw it, liked it, It was worth more, so I handed him $250. Guy was shocked I did that and didn't want to fight over the price.
I agree with you, I hate that statement.

Sorry to hear that. I have been wondering and concerned that the shortages were costing gun shops enough sales for them to go in the red.

I had CRUMS weld my lifter. I want to have the loading port opened next.
-
I don't like side saddles but the ones from three gun gear are popular.
For a pistol grip stock I think you still need to get one for the Benelli M4 and modify it.

For many of the faster loading methods both the pistol grip and sidesaddle will interfere with your hands. That is likely what he meant.
If you load off the belt with the weak hand it works well for me though I don't use a pistol grip anymore and am moving to a load two vest.

I am curious what the next few years will bring. In say, five years the technology will be better and more factory guns will be available with optics. Perhaps then will be the time for an optic division.

This was more of an academic discussion at the club as all shooters activated before shooting.
I did not intend to give people the choice. I had set two out and back targets so there would be a generous head shot available if people did not get them on the move in time. As a result, there was about 2" of the head visible when the target was reset.
A long discussion with 2 open shooters happened, while they debated the merits of tapping the heads instead of activating them. At the time of the discussion, I felt that had they shot the heads and not activated them, that it did not seem right to call a penalty on that as the WSB did not mandate activating the mouse traps. They chose not to shoot it that way as they felt the disaster factor was too high.
I was wondering if I had inadvertently set up a "screw the shooter stage" by leaving the head visible, but then also wondered if giving the choice in such a stage was legal.
Thank you for your replies, I think the answer for me is to work on the setup so you can't see the heads when I use out and back targets again.
How necessary is a free float tube for 3 Gun?

Regular Marines qualifying. No slings.
I was curious what the USMC was issuing and googled the subject.
