I suggest you read this before you do anything else, and definitely look at the Diagrams that Growler provides links to .... may just answer your question and solve your problem (I had exactly the same problem). He provides and excellent and clear cut description of how SIG's are designed to aim and what sight picture you need if you stay with Sig Sights. Called SIG Customer Service and Ordered a TFO Front Sight in Size 8; hopefully, that will provide the needed Elevation Gain.

For me, my old eyes, and my P226 40 cal, the standard factory stock 6 front, 8 rear, makes me shoot about 2-3 inches too low using a "Center Hold" sight picture. I'm calling SIG today to order an 8 front, hoping that 8 and 8 will work better for me and the "Center Hold" sight picture that I prefer. Anyone using the Heine "50+" Sights .... ? My eyesight (and age) sure qualify for them. The Wider notch in the Rear "Slant" sight makes sense to me in facilitating quick front sight, which is Fiber Optic. My current SIG factory Night Sights are Front size 6 and Rear size 8 and it causes me to shoot about 2-3 inches low at 10-15 yards. I know I could just contact SIG and buy a new front or rear sight to hopefully make the adjustment. But, the Heine web site has diagram illustrating how their design is based on a sight picture very much like a 6 O'Clock hold, or, a POA=POI which is exactly what I like. Will appreciate learning of your experience with these sights

What did you end up doing and how did it all work out? I have a P226 Elite in 40 cal and am considering the same thing as my size 6 front sight makes me shoot too low. Ken

Bummer .... TFO Front Sight arrived, package marked that it was a size 8 but when we put Calipers on it, turned out to be considerably taller than my current size 6, which, was the exact opposite of what we are trying to accomplish. Think I will have to call Sig and see if they can sell me the right size, or, give up on TFO's and just get a set of Sig sights that will work for me. Will also try shooting it some more with current factory sights (8 in Rear and 6 in Front as I noticed that all the new Sigs in Dealers case come that way from the factory. Ken

What is the "DOH Attachment" ? It Drops and Offsets the holster down and slightly away from the body for quicker draws, while still being legal for Production. Thanks for the explanation. Ken

My Gunsmith is trying to get a Size 9, or size 10 TFO Front Sight for me (to replace my stock, factory, size 6 Sig Night-Sight ... I'd rather shoot a little too high than too low. It's easier for me to move to a 6 O'Clock Hold to resolve impact being too high from a POA=POI Sight Picture.

I have a new (to me) Sig P226 Elite 40 Cal that I've put about 200-250 rounds through ... about the same number the original owner put through it. I really like the pistol but find that at 10 Yards it shoots about 3-4 inches lower than what I think my sight picture will produce. It has the original Sig Night Sights that are standard on the P226 R Elite. I think the Rear Sight is marked as as size 8 and the front sight as a size 6. Looking for suggestions on how best to improve my shooting results .... ideally, I like to shoot with either a 6 O'Clock hold, or, a POA=POI where the top of the front sight is aligned with the center of the target. I don't like to have to entirely hide, or cover, the target with my sights at the time I break the shot. Thinking about 3 options" 1.) call Sig and buy a different size Rear Sight ... Owners Manual says this is the most effective way to change Elevation 2.) Install a TFO Front Sight .... if my Gunsmith can confirm the size would yield desired results with current Rear Sight 3.) Replace with Mepro's; maybe a set with Adjustable Rear Sight as I will likely buy a 357 Barrel also .... and I have these sights on a Glock G17 and like them Got any suggestions ? Thanks ken

Yes, Talon makes a set for the G34 .... I put them on my own G34 that I use in IDPA and they fit perfectly; could not be happier with them. Nice people to deal with and very quick delivery. Ken

Why does one choose one height over another for the Front Sight? Why .285 vs: .300? I'm ordering some Dawson Sights and their web site says ... for the Rear Sight, it "requires a Front Sight height of either .285 or .300" I don't know what difference it makes to me whether I Order one vs: the other? Does one height or the other have advantages or disadvantages? Going on a G34 Hoping you guys can once again educate me. Thanks Ken

This is the exact same configuration I use. Best...sights...ever. I debated that same option but decided to try the red FO inserts on the Rear to make the Green Front really pop. Plan is; if I don't like the red rear I can always put something black on the FO Rods; either a temporary black tape or a more permanent paint or black marker to block the light from entering the FO Rod and then they'd look black just like they do in low light on the Indoor Range.

Today I Ordered for my G34, the Adjustable Rear with Fiber Optic and the corresponding size F/O Front sight. Green in Front, Red in Rear ... should yield fast target acquisition in daylight .... they suggested the thinner front sight which will allow for a little open space on each side when sighting. This will be my set up for IDPA Matches for the 6-7 mos. of the year that we are outdoors. When I pick up a G17 (4th Gen) I anticipate putting on these same sights but with the Tritium instead of FO. They told me their Tritium Sights are from Trijicon and if you look at their Front Sights it actually says Trijicon on it. This will be my setup for the 4-5 mos of the year that we are restricted to the Indoor Range where lighting is such that FO Sights just don't show up. Ken

I was recently told Dawson NO LONGER carries the Adjustable Rear Sights for Glock and we could NOT find them on their web site ? See Post #58 above. I have a link to Dawson glock sights at Shooters Connection. I saw that and was glad to find somewhere that has these .... my comment was that "Dawson" no longer makes or carries them, or, at least it appears that way from their web site. My only concern is ... why has the Makers topped them and what if it broke and you needed some part or service ?

I'm a "newbie" to the Glock World, coming from 1911's. Have a G34 that I've only had for 2 months ... shoot it in IDPA. What I'd appreciate learning is ... why do you folks switch these springs and spring weights? What are you achieving; is it reduced recoil? What is the spring weight in my new, stock G34 ?
