  1. Yes, never having that come to mind that is a great point to make.. and by the way.. it arrived today..
  2. Yes I am truly looking forward using it. I have a question though, would it be worth the money to later add the air pressure attachment for the lube?
  3. I bought some n320 too.. I have a pound of Tightgroup that I am going to use up before I get into the VV powder.
  4. Well I will not need one afterall.. I have discovered that once I started using my RCBS sizing die to size the "glocked" brass.. it sized it enough to fit in my tighter chambered Performance Center Tactical .40.. so I am not going to worry about it any more.
  5. The only powder to use in .308 is Varget or RL-15 and 4064, these are the best powders also for the M1A. If you shoot an M1 Garand.. I wouldn't go any slower than H4895.. unless you want to bend your op-rod.
  6. Read above.. those are the popular powders .. BLC-2 is not on the short list.. never will be.. and it is way too temp sensitive. Another powder that gives excellent accuracy and meters well is WW748.. but again.. too temp sensitive and is not on the short list.. The popular powders for .223 are in order. Varget, RL-15, N540, N140, AA2520, H4895.
  7. Well I ordered a Star sizer on the 26th of March, they are shipping it two weeks before they said that they would! Yea!
  8. Varget is the powder, but if you can get Reloader 15, that is good too.. also. VV N540, N140. RL15, 540 and 140 will usually yield higher velocities than Varget, but Varget is more temp tolerant.
  9. Got the powder yesterday.. should last me a while. At the rate that I plan to shot my pistol, this 8 pounds should last me a couple of years.
  10. There was a word that I was trying to think of while I was writting my previous post, well .. while at work last night, it hit me. Equanimity
  11. I look at being in the "bubble" as being in a state of concentration that nothing around you, you will notice.. Just as in like when I shoot prone matches or national match type rifle matches.. the person next to me.. When it is time to focus, I am aware of the fact that I am not the only one on the line.. but those others, they are lost in my mist of concetration. A person could be shooting a 338 Lapua Mag next to me, I will not notice that they are there till it is all over. My bubble is: me, the target and my scorer. My focus zone, is me and the target. Notice that I have not mentioned the firearm.. that is because, in part, my way of thinking is that you must become part of the weapon that You using. In essence " Be the Bullet". I do a lot of "imaging", going through everything in my mind. Position, sight alignment, calling the shot. See everything in your mind. Over and over again. Always remembering the basics, building upon them.. when I come into a problem, I start over from the foundation.
  12. Your right.. I went back and looked at it.. it is from the 2006 PDF file of the VV reloading info.. I must have mis-typed it.. it says 4.3grs and not 4.5grs like I had originally posted.. sorry for my fat lil fingers getting in the way. Randy
  13. I have recieved a couple thou of once fired Winnie .40 brass.. My RCBS sizing die sizes the "glocked" brass perfect to use in my S&W.
  14. If you go to the VV website it list the following information to which OP is referring to for charge wt. Fiocchi 180gr LTC bullet, starting load of 3.5grs (883fps) and a max load of 4.5grs (1010fps) of N320. OAL 1.126. This is the only 180gr bullet in their load info that they used N320 with. They do not state what type of firearm they use, only that the test bbl was 5.5 inches long.
  15. Yeah, I could have gotten the powder a bit ago.. but they were waiting on the primers to arrive.. but when I called them today and found out that the primer delivery was pushed back, I asked them to go ahead and ship the powder.. I need it. I know where there is some Clays at in the area, I am going to go get bit of it tomorrow at 20.00 a pound. All I am really waiting on now is my Star Sizer.. which will be ready in about 3 weeks to ship. The primers are Wolf primers that I am waiting on.. 20,000 of them.. 15K of small rifle and 5K of the large rifle for my palma gun. I have enough primers for the rest of this year for my prone rifle. I also have another 5K of Win small rifle that I was going to use in the .40 and 5K Win large rifle may use in the palma rifle.
  16. Well my powder is shipping out today.. w231 and VV N320.. The primers prob won't arrive till sometime mid May or early June.
  17. Any one know anything about these? http://www.glockwarehouse.com/product_p/zt-connector.htm
  18. I have 10K primers here at the house, and another 20K on order.. should do me a while when they get here!
  19. MLM, I was thinking also of the Blade-Tech DOH.. I have one already for my Smith.. so I was thinking of just getting the part that holds the pistol and that way I can switch things around as I need to with the holsters.
  20. Flex, Grabbing the g35 out and checking my grip, I see what it is that your talking about. I have lil hands, but it still may be a problem with that extended slide release! I had thoughts going through my head of Murphy's Law, that one would hit that slide release at the most inopportune time.. being right when the slide is to lock back on a empty mag and one mistakenly hits the release before doing a mag change, then you have to waste time racking the slide to chamber the first round of the new mag.. seconds wasted! Randy
  21. I just traded my G22 for a G35.. it already has the extended slide release on it. My thoughts are.. what should I do with it.. I a newbie to the sport of USPSA.. but not to shooting. I have a S&W PC 4006 5" already that I was going to use in L10, I am not really concerned about shooting production. But yet, that is prob a good place learn things, in the same token, I feel that where ever I start, it still will be a learning curve! I don't want to really be shooting a lot of different div's . I have thought about just making it into a limited budget Limited Gun, adding things to it as I go. I already have 5 hi-cap mags for it. So what are the best mag extentions for the money? CR Speed or the Safariland's? I feel that I would like to put a one peice guide rod in it. Should I go with steel or Tungsten? As for magwells, brass or Alum? And what trigger group? Oh.. and what adj. sights do you think would be best for the money? Remember that this is a budget project.. and in time, if I feel the need I will improve upon it as time goes. I know about the saying, "Cry Once"! Your thoughts and input will be greatly appreciated. Randy
  22. I wrote John at u'all's urging. Here is what I said: John, I have aquired a S&W Performance Center 4006 Tactical .40 5" slide, made in 1997.. What division would it be in? Limited or Limited-10? Randy Here is John's response: Hi Randy, The 4006 is listed on the approved handguns for Production division, if it is a double action or DA/SA. If it is something different, it can be used in either Limited or Limited 10, there is no difference of guns for either division, just one is 10 rounds only and the other is higher capacity. John
  23. If your shooting 400 yards plus.. the best choice is the SIE 77gr SMK, in tactical matches, this bullet is lenght tolerant bullet allowing you to load to mag length. Standard load for this bullet is 24.0 - 24.5 grs of Varget, winchester or remington brass, CCI BR primer. (BR primers and Varget are like a loving marriage) Be sure to uniform your primer pockets and flash holes. I highly reconmend using an 8 twist barrel and no slower.. Krieger 7.7 is another good choice in barrels. Plus.. one will get about 7K rounds out of a Krieger barrel. Min length 20 inches.
