  1. Registration for non-junior shooters opens tomorrow, Correct?

    http://fortbenningmultigun.com/#reserve

    Please read:

Due to some scheduling conflict the registration date was push back one week.

Also, we are trying to encourage as many junior participants as possible to shoot this event. There will be a 1 day advantage given to anyone who will bring a junior shooter. So If you are bringing a junior shooter to the match you and your junior will be able to sign up Friday. All remaining slots will be opened up on Saturday the 19th at 2100 EST. This is to encourage junior shooters, and also to give them a glimpse into the Army and let them get some good experiences they will remember forever.

    Registration will open:

Friday September 18 at 2100 EST

    (9:00pm Eastern Standard Time)

    Please read above

  2. RO 'determination'.

Steel must fall so i would score a miss.

I know some stands/plates have lips/flanges to try to prevent this.

8.4.24 Unlike Poppers, metal plates are not subject to calibration or calibration challenges.

If a scoring metal plate has been hit but fails to fall, self-indicate, or overturn as designed, the Range Officer shall determine

whether the plate is functioning as designed.

If found to be defective, the Range Officer shall declare

range equipment failure and order the competitor to reshoot the course of fire, after the faulty plate has

    been rectified.

The Range Officer shall be the final arbiter as to whether the plate is functioning as

    designed.

  3. Same here. Getting the same groups as you get. They are more patterns than groups. I think the max safe range with slugs is about 80 meters. Which is really not that bad considering buckshot is maxed out at 40 meters with Flite Control Wad ammo.

My versa comp still prints quite poorly with slugs w/group appx 10-12 inches at 100 & even at 25 yds can tell the fliers not really left or right, up/down etc.

Try B&P slugs. Very accurate with my versamax, Rio slugs on the other hand all over the place

My VM does really well with the B&Ps.

unfortunately no longer made or importing and there is only 1 place to get them i know of.

Federal low recoils are also good and the Fiocchi are fine too.

  4. The VM is reliable, much more so than some of the others on the market. But if you want to go past about 2K, they need about $100 of Benelli parts put in. I am well over 10K on my VM and it still gets shot (as a loaner) at more local matches a year than my M2 or Blake's M3000.

Mark, i know there is a list somewhere but I cannot find it. Could you list your recommended benelli parts for the VM?

    Thanks.

  5. RO should have offered a reshoot prior to scoring.

8.6.4 In the event that inadvertent contact from the Range Officer or another external influence has interfered with the competitor during a course of fire, the Range Officer may offer the competitor a reshoot of the course of fire. The competitor must accept or decline the offer prior to seeing either the time or the score from the initial attempt. However, in the event that the competitor commits a safety infraction during any such interference, the provisions of Section 10.3 may still apply.

  6. For carry?Competition? Do you have to make weight?

    Not GEN4 Compatible:

    ALG

    Taran

    GEN4 Without backstraps:

    JP

    ZEV

    or cut the backstrap

    GEN4 with or without backstrap:

    Dawson

I see mainly dawson or zev where i am

  7. I would agree but then read the rules which states:

8.2.2 The competitor assumes the start position as specified in the written stage briefing.

Unless otherwise specified, the competitor must stand erect, facing downrange, with arms and hands hanging naturally by the sides (see appendix E3 for an example of this)

Then in the glossary it lists

Facing Uprange ................Face and feet pointing straight towards the backstop with shoulders parallel to the backstop.
Facing Down Range ........The exact opposite of facing uprange.
based on the above it would seem that the RO is correct.
