I get that this isn't legal.
But, as a production shooter, it still baffles me. For the most part, the production rules are written to prevent gaining competitive advantage. In this case, no advantage would be gained. Same as shooting a conversion barrel in a glock. Not legal, but nonsensical as no competitive advantage.

Not quite the same but along the same lines, it's not legal to put a G34 slide on a G17 frame and shoot it in Production.

I was just asking this question yesterday. I don't agree with the response , you are not disabling anything since in the new slide there is nothing to disable......it simply is not there.
Exactly. And it is there on the non-Shadow SP01. You're not "disabling" it so much as removing it. Still not legal.

+100 for mcbrides. Best steak in town. Never been to pelicans because I've heard it's extremely pricey.
I've been to McBrides every time I've been up to Wichita Falls for a match and that'll remain a tradition as long as they're open.

Who gives a crap what time registration opened? It doesn't matter.
Open it at midnight, 3am, 7am, 3pm. It fills up regardless. Period. It sells out in the exact same time, if not even faster.
I'd venture to guess I'm as close as you can get to both the MD and the sweet woman whose ass you're all reaming because of what time she opened registration and I can tell you without a hint of hesitation that NO ONE knew what time registration was opening.
All of you that are insinuating something nefarious based on the time registration opened should be ashamed of yourselves.
FYI, if I wasn't ROing the match I wouldn't have made it either because it was sold out well before I woke up.

It is a suggestion... and you can not "engage" a target through a wall, Snow fence or other... big issue and hard to call when running a shooter.
Sure you can. You just don't get the hits since the walls are impenetrable.

I would also like to thank the whole MS Classic crew for another excellent match. Job well done, guys and gals! Also, all the sponsors (Hear-Pro, Bayou Bullets, JABs, Max's, just to name a few) were quite generous and I know that all the goodies were greatly appreciated.
Squad 8 was one of the best resetting groups I've ever had the pleasure to shoot with! I will be back if I can get in again next year.
I expect to see pics from my Stage #5 spill in the next couple days.
If it's the spill I heard about, I expect to see pics as well!

I want to give a big shout out to Steve specifically but I couldn't ever forget the entire crew of the MS classic. Y'all put on a fantastic match and I will never, ever miss working this match as long as I can help it.
I almost wasn't able to shoot the match due to scheduling issues at work but I was still looking very forward to working it. I did end up being able to shoot and shot one of my worse matches to date but I still ended up pulling out 2nd A which was quite baffling to me. I happily accepted my surprise award and gave Steve a surprise of his own.
To all the competitors who came by stage 6, I hope you had a great time on my stage and, as always, if anyone has any comments, complaints or suggestions for how my crew and I do things, please do not hesitate to ask. I always strive to be consistent and efficient but, most of all, to have a great time. Obviously issues arise that are outside of my control but I try to do the best to keep things running smoothly.

Great match as always from Steve and his crew!!!! Now for the serious stuff, if you raise the match fee by $2 per head......say 175 paid shooters that would generate an additional $350 which would purchase an additional 3 kegs of Miller Lite as that was floated in about 30 minutes well ahead of the bud light (no discussion on quality of beer needed)....So instead of 2 we could have 5.......now for you non-drinkers wouldn't you pay $2 to have 75% of the competitions heads pounding a little harder on Sunday morning.....great tactical advantage here for a mear $2......What do you think???

A "tactical Ted". Everyone has their own motivation for shooting matches. Some like to incorporate their tactics. I find this behavior amusing, but would not pass judgement.

So how do you apply 8.2.2 to facing uprange starts if no hand position is given?

To the best of my knowledge, you use the facets of 8.2.2 that are not specified.
And you have a talk with the RM/MD/Stage designer so they can correct their WSB for next time.

I can tell you pointblank that whether I'm working as an RO, CRO, or RM I want the hits on each target to be called correctly. Why? Because to do anything less, disadvantages someone in the match.....
If I'm called to evaluate a target that was already scored by someone else, I'll examine the hit in question. I'll also score the rest of the target to confirm that we scored it correctly in the first place......
How did I know you'd be here to ignore the rules and express your opinion?
Where is the rule he's ignoring that says the CRO/RM can't score the whole target?

Hello,
There’s been a discussion on the BE forum concerning scoring challenges, and I would appreciate your input to post to the forum.
During a scoring challenge, should the CRO or RM score the entire challenged target, or only the specific hit or hits that have been challenged? The last sentence of 9.6.7 implies that only challenged hits are to be scored:
“Both the competitor and the Range Officer must sign the target and clearly indicate which hit(s) is (are) subject to challenge.”

The competitor is not challenging the entire target, just disagreeing with the RO’s call on a specific hit, if for an example the hit in question is close to the next scoring line, the RO may call a C and the competitor disagrees as he/she thinks it is an A. Most calls are for the perceived double, and the RM is called to make the call on that hit as to if there is one or two bullet marks to either call an A and Mike or two A’s.

Is it just me or did he not answer the question? Or maybe the question wasn't asked correctly? I'd have asked if the CRO/RM is allowed by the rules to re-score the entire target or is he only allowed to score the hit(s) in question.
The change in verbiage from should to can/could changes the question entirely. Same way must versus may would.

The range wasnt cleared before scoring took place?
As for the question, we do it here to help speed up the process, i dont recall a rule stating you cant.
Sorry, that wasn't clear. The range WAS cleared (safe), scoring was going on downrange, and the shooter(s) wanted to stage their ammo while we were scoring. It wasn't that they were getting in the way, I just didn't want them handling ammunition before I was ready.

Rules allow for handling ammo anywhere but in the safe area.

All it says is you need to indicate which hits you are challengeing. Nowhere does it say that the hits can't be CORRECTLY scored if not done so.
The scoring policy is defined fairly clearly, as is the challenge policy. What rule or rules support having a CRO or RM rescore non-challenged hits?
The rule book is not a one way street.

Think of the targets on the stage as adversaries. Attack them. Quickly and accurately and proficiently but attack them.
Also, I have well over 1,000 posts so obviously I know what I'm talking about.

During a recent trip to western NC I stopped by a local Mom and Pop store. I sneezed while checking out and the old man said "Scat there!". I didn't think anything about it but I overheard someone else saying the same thing a few days later. I looked it up online and discovered its a regional saying heard only in the Appalachians. It could be "Scat there" or "Scat there Tom, your tail's in the gravy" only said after someone sneezes. I don't get it but I do find it interesting. Has anyone else come across weird regional sayings or phrases?
My late grandmother used to say "scat" to sneezes and she was born & raised in Louisiana.

Because a lot of times the other hit gets pasted before he gets there.But I do see the point about an extra hit in the D zone. But in my case it was only 2 shots fired.
Personally if there is a questioned hit the target should be left alone, in my opinion. Also I really find it pretty sad that people don't want the correct score if it hurts their score. You shot what you shot. I would expect the same from the RO staff for every shooter.
I agree to taking the correct score also. That's why I asked for the CRO. I didn't feel the RO was holding the overlay over the center of the bullet hole. On a side note I have told Ros that they missed a no-shoot. My hits are my hits good or bad.
I must be the minority because I like to be the one doing the work when I'm working a stage.

I'd prefer a target to not be touched at all until after we've scored it and moved past. -
