I run merrell chameleon so I good regardless, and I can't seem to find anything in chap5 to say otherwise.

The fact this kind of rule has to exist drives me crazy. Either play our game straight up or find another hobby. I hope I don't ever come across this type of behavior.

I think Flexmoney has it right. Clear between the stages and then load and make ready. Covers the bases and complies with old fashion horse sense.
-
In a lvl II or higher match this shouldnt happen. If a smaller facility wants to have a high level either that'd great but shoot the stages break for lunch and move things around as needed.
For club matches do your speed shoot and classifer on one bay staying hot between the two. If an RO pulls that junk that was mentioned earlier.....well we wont mind being short one shooter the next month.
Sounds to me like a freshly minted CRO had little man syndrome. While he was technically correct he needs to use some common sense. Which seems to be in short supply these days.

What are you waiting for? You're faster than this. Don't think you are, know you are.
-
If you have something to say, now would be the time to keep it to yourself.

Does the line in the sand between rifles of equal caliber really matter? TO vs Open....I need a bullet list of what makes them different.
-
Interesting. So you didn't have any trouble with the roller laying down too much paint and wilting the targets?

Tough call. I know the "though shall follow or be judged" crowd will be along, but I would have educated him and let it go. If he did it again then hi ho hi to open we go. I agree that "its just a club match" is a crutch sometimes, but out of context a lot of things need to be judged on their merit. A safety infraction is one thing, but a SS pulling a mag from the frt pocket is in the grey for me.
Educate and move on.
And if the same shooter in the same match later fires 11 shots before a reload but had declared Major, another "educate and let it go" session?
Negative. If he pulls that then it would be obvious to me the he is torquing the rules. If he gripes and doesn't like it, then our 80+ monthly match will be fine w/o him.
Actually if I happen to be on the same squad and he pulls the 11rd crap the next month then there is no discussion just a bump to open.
I enjoy being a hard$*# but I also have a very distinct distaste for zero tolerance, with the exception of any safety issues.

I've shot 1000's of them in .40 & .45. They are pretty good quality, and are as good as Rainer or Berry's IMO.

Harder to push it out the front. Of course the only ones I have ever dealt with were barely down the tube.
BTW, you might want to give your ammo reloading QC a quick going over.
Good advice. The bullets already have grooves that match where they have been.
And either get a powder cop or install a LED light on the press. I'm glad you aren't posting about a KB.

I have a Hornady LNL and most everyone I shoot with has a Dillion. They almost always kick dirt on my shoes when we discuss Varget. Not sure what the Dillion hates about Varget, but it does. If it helps my red beast hates RL-15.

It's good to hear that Salient is manned by some solid folks. It also sounds like a forum member needs flogged. I'm glad it ended up with you having the long end of the stick.

Personally I have no problem being ran by a young person. As a squad mate if the young person is being "bullied" by a shooter on a call it's no different than if the RO where 30something. I step in to help resolve and move the match forward.
If it's a Lvl II or higher match any RO of any age has no business being "coached" that's flat ridiculous. I would have called for the RM and gone to the MD if needed. A competitor has every right to question to a decision that let an unqualified person RO. It's possible the kid would have been fine if his father would have left him alone to do his business.
As far as the legal issue if someone was injured I don't really know. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see where a jury of reasonable people would think that had an adult RO been running the stage the outcome would be any different. Ultimately it's the shooter not the RO that's required to ensure they conduct themselves in a safe manner. The RO's job is to call them out if they don't. The RO doesn't have ESP and can't know what a shooter is going to do next.

Ive got big hands and have no trouble reaching the release on my g35 w/o changing my grip. Its like everything else with this game whats fast for one may not be fast for another. A few quick drills will tell you which is best for you.

I went with the LR308 mainly for price point. I picked it up at a good price and now I'm really glad I didn't spend 2-3X as much on a M1A. It eats most anything and is as accurate as I am.

After wrestling with this same issue lately I decided on the DPMS Mark12 18" barrel. It's supposedly a decent shooter for <$200.
-
I've been kicking this around also. It won't be the coolest 2011 in the match, but if I can do it for 70% of the cost then I wouldn't really care.

I've not seen where a specific "crimp" makes a difference one way or the other. I just adjust the die 1/16th of a turn until the flare is removed so I don't have that data recorded anywhere.

I imagine this post should be deleted as it is a rebuttal to us getting up tight about something so trivial.

Typical of US businesses today. Outsourcing.
Typical of government over regulating which leads to outsourcing. If they were made in the US and cost 5times as much then ppl would be bitching about the cost.
If nothing else the dems and repubs are finally in agreement on something.

Sorry i voted before i realized this was a what .223 ammo do you shoot thread.

I used to love the idea of shooting 308 and whipping 223s. But with all the scoring going to time plus with 1 A to neutralize and no "any 2 on paper" for major then what's the point of HM?
