NC Tax reform to raise ticket prices at movies, sporting events... new tax code passed by the North Carolina General Assembly this summer...active in 2015 As part of the overhaul, all but a few types of live events will be taxed. A huge swath of events, which were previously untaxed and include festivals, agricultural affairs and state attractions, will now be subject to sales tax across the state. ARTS N.C. State and N.C. State athletic events will be subject to a sales tax of 6.75 percent. TH3GN is run like any business on the up and up, insurance, attorney retainers, accountants, staff, payroll, this not a one and done deal or a one off event. We would not charge it if we were not advised to do so. Having said that I will follow the advice of our accountant. thanks...Apparently some did not read that statement or the line item on the invoice. We will gladly refund anyone that has issue on the sale tax...I cant get around the tax man.

As for the question about sale tax...under advisement from our accountant we are required and have been filling monthly sales tax in NC. It is not hidden on the invoice. If you don't wish to pay it, no hard feeling. I kinda wondered the same thing, but am unfamiliar with NC tax code. I'm not upset, but it would have been nice to know beforehand(it very well may have been posted and I missed it). Maybe an explanation for good measure as I've never seen sales tax associated with any match fee. I have always been under the impression that a match fee was a service which in Alabama, is not taxed.

I think that everyone is wait listed at first and then they move people into the match. Check your emails...waitlist is secure. MAKE SURE TO check emails in the next few days and weeks, invoice are sent via email...no paper checks and snail mail. The folks on the waitlist also check emails for getting moved into the match.

As for the train wreck on the match registration, I apologize and take responsibility...no one is more frustrated and upset about it than I am...but I am dedicated to making this work both in fairness and in logistics. I also saw on the website where after registration your entry will be promoted into the match by the match staff. Does this mean that, even if I get registered this evening, your staff will select which entries that will be permitted to shoot and I may not make the cut? Bill Bill it is by order of registration, but we certainly have to accommodate current and future sponsor and staff slots. a common practice in most any match.

To be sure I understand correctly, if a Division is cancelled, it will be far enough before the "no more refunds date" that we can cancel rather than be moved to another Division. Since I shoot Open and Open only, this will have some bearing on my decision to sign up Thursday. Thanks. Divisonal will run under regional rules but your best one score from the regionals is your divisional score. Pro and Pro series Qualifier run under 3GN Pro Series rules.

To answer some of the concerns...but not all... more later...useful info I would say.... Heavy Metal (only) = 1 hit anywhere on paper to score Heavy Metal/Tactical Irons = 1 non magnified optic in conjunction with or w/o traditional iron sights in any configuration (offset or cowitness acceptable) Heavy Metal Optics = Tac-Optics w/ a .308 rifle Drums are allowed in all divisions. Heavy Metal is a 20rd loaded max Yes there will be a standardized barricade that offers the same equal firing positions for left and right handers and allows all shooters to choose how to engage targets from each position unless stated in the stage briefing. Plan are to have them available at MGM for sale. Prone, sitting, kneeling and standing will be available on each barricade unless stated in the briefing. Targets do not have an A, B, C or D zone. We will be using the 3GN official paper target at all Regional matches. Shooters will choose a primary and secondary division AT SIGN UP. Should the primary not have the mandated minimum participation, the competitor will be moved to the secondary division. When a shooter is bumped they will receive an email to inform them of the division change. There will be cut off date and if a division in question does not meet the minimum it will be thrown out of the match. Shooters will not be able to show up and jump into a division that has be cancelled. The cut off date will be 3-4 weeks out from the match in question. Shooters will be given an adequate heads up to prepare for the division change. If the 10th shooter in a division backs out after the refund cut off date the division will stand and still be honored. If it is before and a refund is granted the other 9 will be notified and placed in their secondary divisions.
