  1. They are made of brass. Fill a 8 lb powder jug with them and you can get $80 to 150 for them. They are totally safe if they have been fired.
  2. My bad I read line 4 and skipped right over 5.
  3. It appears to me that you can go 9mm major in limited and L 10 now. Is this correct? Also would it be legal to put a 9mm barrel in a Glock 35 for L 10?
  4. I have found plenty of magnum small pistol primers. How will they change a load? How much will the raise the power factor? Are they harder to detonate than regular small pistol primers? DO they put out more pressure and get the bullet moving before the powder is lit?
  5. I suggest you first find out whats in your area, and then go to a match to watch first. The sig can hold more rounds than that unless you are in a state the prohibits it. The sig would be great for uspsa production, but the only downside would be a double action and single action pull that are very different on that particular gun. The single stacks would be great for single stack or L 10 classes, but anything under .40 caliber will be score minor (meaning if you hit out of the A zone you will get less points).
  6. I dont think a drug can give you the same high or make me spend as much money as I do on shooting. I agree this forum is second to none. Welcome! This forum is killer! Lots of legacy data, use the search function a lot. I only say that because recently I've looked at a few and I'll tell ya there is a TON of great threads from the past in this forum. The best shooters in the world post in these forums. Lot's of good info. And great people. Welcome to the drug addiction - I mean sport
  7. Im fairly new also, and I have to get used to progressives as well. Welcome to the addiction.
  8. Thanks For the reply alamo shooter. So I could shoot limited auto and open auto as a non pro shooter or will the stop me once I get decent?
  9. I posted in the steel challenge section, but I dont think it has as much traffic as this area does. I have read the rules on the sc website, but I am still not positive on the limited rule. Is limited anything goes just no comp and no scope?
  10. I am not sure if it is the "game guns," or if it is the amount of concentration you are able to put forth as a more experienced shooter. I used to be able to shoot any big bore handgun good enough to hunt with, then I started competition and a 44 mag hurts.
  11. I have been to the steel challenge website, but Im not so positive on the rules. Is limited class anything goes besides a comp and scope?
  12. Thanks for the replies. I live in southwest Mississippi, so I dont have any of the real famous gunsmiths in my area. There is a famous PPC gunsmith near by, but he quit doing complete builds. Clark Custom is about 4 hours away, so I was considering them. I want a place where I can drop it off and they do A-Z. I know chances are I will have to get machine work done at a different place and probably get it coated somewhere else, but I want the rest done at one place. I have had some grandmasters say that a guy an hour away from me is top knotch at fitting a barrel and slide to frame fitting, so would you say those 2 things are the most important?
  13. I have been told to use a local smith incase I need work in a hurry before a major match. Then I have had people say they send their guns off, but they can do the minor work need incase there is a probelm before a match. What do you do...send it to the most popular smith or use a local one? Also is there a Gods gift smith out there or are all top smith equal?
  14. This one is not legal for production though is it?
  15. Thanks for all of the invitations and replys. Mr. Hughes I didnt know you were on the forums. I cant wait for the first match, but I will probably be shooting metallics. My scope is off at Gilmore getting alittle work.
  16. If you are left handed and the groups were to the left you are either using to little trigger finger or pulling the trigger to the left. The gun recoiling to the left for a lefty is odd. THe gun should recoil to the weakest point, wich is to the right in the left hand and visa versa. Sometimes when your used to speed shooting it is hard to slow down and focus on the basics for tight groups.
  17. I plan to read the book atleast 10 more times. It is an amazing book.
  18. I will let them know hopalong. CHemepharmd, I live in the southwest corner, so I am a little far away. With your matches being on a saturday though I will try to make it over there every now and then. Have you shot in poplarville?
  19. Thanks for all of the replies. Mr. CLean I have shot in byram before, but not uspsa. I hope to make the match there next month or so. Mikej, yeah they like revolvers! I am going to shoot ICORE as well for a while atleast.
  20. I have shot many deciplines in the past, but never uspsa. I shot my first match this past weekend, so I figured I would finally start to chime in after lurking around these forums for over a year. I was thinking of competeing in multiple divisions; how many of you shoot say limited and production or limited and open etc. ?
  21. I have shot 200 grain SWCs through my xd in competition with no ftf. +1 -lone wolf, KKM or Jarvis is good. No need to change barrels in the two guns mentioned by the poster (XD or M&P). The XD does not like the SWC at all. The M&P seems to run them just fine. Both are good guns and shoot lead just fine. Hope that helps.
