  1. Oh man... I shot my last USPSA match with my revolver. All A's in 9.06s and I got 43%! Yikes I thought it would be better than that. My reload was a tad slow but not that bad for me. Same HF in production comes out to 42% and they don't need reloads... Maybe I should go back to production- the revo stuff is hard!

The revo HHFs are all kinds of messed up.

At the same match, I shot it with 1 C in 5.34 in production, for 67.7%, my first B class classifier and my first divisional stage win.

  2. Nope, 1 bump only.

Yup, this happened to me at the Maine state match last year (Won MM and beat all the SS in SSP). I'm still SS in SSP. I came pretty close to EX in the last classifier I shot, but I'm not quite there yet.

  3. Actually Steve....Pointing to your opinion in a thread on another forum does not the definitive answer make..... biggrin.gif The IDPA rule book specifically states there is no 180 rule. We can let this deteriorate into an "intent" or "common sense dictates" discussion..but the rule book is clear. If you issue a DQ because of safe muzzle points, unsafe gun handling or range rules - that is within IDPA guidelines... but you can't call it for the 180 when the rulebook specifies there is none.

Do you specify muzzle safe points for every stage? How do you adjust for moving shooters? Every club I've shot at specifies that the muzzle safe points are the 180 unless otherwise specified. I've seen it widened slightly for when a target was to be engaged directly to the side of the shooter, and narrowed when putting multiple stages in a bay.

  4. You need access to a chrono to make sure your load makes power factor, but once you get it set, you don't really need it until you change lots of powder. If you can borrow a friend's chrono for a week or two to work up a load, you can put off buying one. That's what I did, but now I'm going to start working on loading for 223, so I'm going to buy one.

Having your own timer for practice is essential IMO. Steve Anderson's book Refinement and Repetition plus a timer with a part time feature is probably the best practice tool investment you can make.

  5. If you're primarily shooting SSP, I'd go with the 5" 9mm Pro. I don't see much point to shooting all the divisions with one gun. Most of the matches I've attended, SSP is by far the biggest division.

  6. I wanted to like the beltfeed, but I couldn't get a clean grab of mag #3. I spent a few weeks dry firing with it, and it just didn't work out. I sent it back for 4 singles. Thankfully, comp-tac is very good about their return policy. You really have nothing to lose but your time to try it.

  7. There was a big thread about it on the forum here somewhere. I can't remember the subject or I'd try and find it for you.

I think it was on NES

What the heck? This was definitely not the thread I meant to post that in. I can't remember now what the subject was, but it definitely wasn't RO classes.

  8. Talking about a price around $750-850.

That's a great price for a competition gun ready to rock. Any idea when they'll be available? I'm hoping to have one for the 2011 season. Not sure when my first SG/MG match will be.

  9. Will the 24" non-ported barrels be generally available or only on Benny guns? I'm trying to decide if I want to pick up a 930 if I see a good deal and buy the barrel and possibly have mods done later, or wait until Benny has complete guns for sale.

  10. The card is still the only official record of your IDPA classification. There is an official requirement by rule for clubs to maintain shooters' classification cards. There is no such requirement for clubs to input data to the online data base.

I've never touched my classification card in the 3 years I've been an IDPA member. I've never seen another shooter's classification card, and I'm an SO at two clubs (including a regional match) and an MD at one of them. I'm pretty sure I'm far from alone.

  11. Mossberg had two factory guys shooting at the US Coast Guard Academy 3Gun in CT last weekend.

I'm shopping for a 3 gun shotgun and this definitely pushes me toward Mossberg. I like to support companies that support our sport. The fact that they're relatively local doesn't hurt either.

  12. I saw a lot of them, as well as similar sized cars from other manufacturers while I was in Germany. In densely populated metropolitan areas they make sense, great commuters, easy parking, good value and gas mileage. But now, back home in the US, I am seeing more and more of them on the open road. Just don't see where that is a very survivable car on the Interstate system and they don't seem able to maintain Interstate speeds very well either.

They don't even really get that good fuel economy. I get an honest 37mpg combined in my Honda Fit and I can carry 5 passengers or a ton of stuff. Try going to a multigun match in a fourtwo.
