Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I recently had that problem, mag choked after 4-6 rnds. I tried to change mag parts... springs, followers and basepads. Still they choked. It then occured to me that the problem wasn't with the mags, but the ammo. I checked the bullet setting, and realized that they were too long. So I reloaded ammo that was shorter by a millimeter or two. I havn't had the chocking problem ever since.
  2. rishii, What more can I say........ We have good taste
  3. SJS, Congratulations!!! I was just wondering..... how much is food intake would you say would be "adequate nutrition"? I'd really appreciate it if you could just quantify a bit. I hope it would someday bring me to the top ten too.
  4. rishii, I'm trying to minimize my cholesterol intake for health reasons. However, mcoliver can attest that those kinds of food are very hard to resist. Especially during lunch break on an exhausting match day.
  5. Whenever in a match, I usually shoot half of the stages in the morning, eat a heavy lunch, and shoot the other half in the afternoon (for one day matches). Now the problem is this.... I just noticed that my performance before lunch is usually a whole lot better than after it. What puzzles me is that the lunch is suppose to act as the replenishment for the energy lost during the morning runs. However, what happens after lunch instead, is I get sleepy and tired. This feeling is what costs me the afternoon runs. During matches in our place, the standard lunch menu primarily consists of lots of rice, "lechon" (roasted pig), fried chicken, "dinuguan" (pig intrails and blood) and bottles of coke. Basically, with all these food, you're supposed to regain energy.... correct? But it just doesn't seem to work for me. And if I choose to skip lunch and continue to run all the stages, I'd loose focus because of hunger. Anybody with suggestions that might help improve my "after-lunch- runs?
  6. "The shooter doesn't choose the gun......... it's the gun who chooses the SH TER" I know there's a scientific explaination for this. Some guns really aren't meant for certain people. Like.... I wouldn't give my granda a baby armalite for her home defense even if she should like. I'd rather give her a shotgun instead.
  7. I met someone at the range who had his holster fabricated specific to his needs. I tried it for a couple of rounds, and personally think it was the best holster ever. It might take a while to finish, and costs a bit more than a limcat (labor/design)..... but I think it's worth the wait.
  8. I've spent a lot of time and money trying to figure out why my para mags woudn't feed as they should. I just recently realized that the problem wasn't my mags but my bullet settings.
  9. Personally, I think the RM has been of great help.... since I use it on a .45. But for .40's... well..... maybe you'd feel the difference after a thousand rounds.
  10. I wish he should've said it to me that way..... it would've been much easier for me to understand.
  11. Thanks Flex. It worked!!! I decided to take my time in firing my shots at at the target without any time pressure whatsoever. And I was able to shoot about 3-4 inch groups. I think I have been misinformed that speed should come first, then accuracy will follow. (I think I read this somewhere....hmmm...). Anyway, thanks a lot. The sight picture thing is really working for me.
  12. My dad used to say to me when I couldn't decide on wether to use a glock or a 1911: "It's not the Gun, but the gunner that makes a good shooter." on the contrary, he also says: "It's not the shooter but the shots that make you win." Now I'm confused.
  13. I started shooting 6 months ago and believe I've had breakthroughs that a lot of guys just take for granted. I now have the correct greip and stance(says my shooting buddy), I nologner flinge during my shots, and I no longer blink. I thinks this a breakthgough fer a newbee like myself. The only problem left to me is to actually HIT the targets.
  14. I think the gun-ban here doesn't serve any other purpose but to deprive peace-loving, law-abiding sportsmen like us from having fun at the range.
