  1. Slight drift - Does anybody have a flow chart or order of operations/precedence of how to apply the classification rules? I am rather logically oriented person and am having a hard time reproducing my average based on the way i read the rule book. I have searched the forums for this topic and this was as close as I could find. Second question - am I the only person with this problem? Thanks for any help - Adam
  2. I have heard that 147gr is the bullet to go with, however I just got 4000 Montana Gold 115gr bullets and with the price of lead now I think I am going to stay with 115gr for now, I may try that load in the future so thanks for the info. Thanks alot Pat, Dan Question - I have heard other people talk about using heavy bullets in 9mm and the steel issue. My question is if the PF is the same on different weight bullets, both loads should be delivering the same amount of energy. So is this just a felt / perceived difference in Steel's reaction? I don't have any heavy bullets or I would load them up and see for myself. Adam Not to give a short answer,as I am a old Hillbilly and not up on the book smarts. Heaver bullet weight transfer's more energy to the target. It works. pat That simple answer makes sense to me, without doing all of the science! Adam

  4. I have been working loads with Titegroup and my new G34 for the last couple of weeks - hope this helps. Wiht G34: I am using 115g FMJ bullet with 4.1g of Titegroup, Win small pimers, and OAL of 1.15. I am getting it to chrono, in daylight, at pf128.05 @32 degrees, and pf 128.72 @45 degrees. Used the LED shields on the chrono 2 days ago and it came up as pf123.683 @44 degrees, not sure why the large difference, but some other ammo we ran across it showed the same percentage loss in pf. Still trying to figure this out. I started this load at 3.8g of Titegroup and had a pf of 124.3 I have some 125g FMJ data also if your interested. -Adam
  5. Ya - Sorry for any confusion I imparted on this thread. I read the whole statue and it just really surprised me. I read "moving" in the last stanza of the exception as transport not relocation as is apparently the intended meaning of the word. I just wonder how much this gets broken every day and I am just glad I have my lifetime permit!
  6. IC 35-47-2-21 Recognition of retail dealers' licenses and licenses to carry handguns issued by other states Sec. 21. (a) Retail dealers' licenses issued by other states or foreign countries will not be recognized in Indiana except for sales at wholesale. ( Licenses to carry handguns, issued by other states or foreign countries, will be recognized according to the terms thereof but only while the holders are not residents of Indiana. As added by P.L.311-1983, SEC.32. Answered my own question.... A: not once I become an IN resident. So... if/when I move out, there is up to a 60-day window while my permit is being processed (plus however long it takes me to get to the PD to file the app) that -legally- I can not go shoot other than on my own property. Interesting. Guess what will be first on the list of things to do after moving..... -rvb This led to a thought I had earlier but dropped. Hunting - When I have gone hunting in the past I have never had or heard of the need to have a license to transport the arms. I did have a license to hunt, however. So does that license allow one to transport the arms? I reread IC 35-47-2-2 from your first post and I am not a lawyer, but that still reads to me you can carry unloaded and secured between your dwelling's and fixed place's of business. All of the range's I have shot at in Indiana are Fixed Business's. So how is a target permit required to travel to them. Furthermore reading IC 35-47-2-1 - you can carry in your dwelling, on your property, or a fixed business without license. Now I am more interested and I have to go and find ALL of the law to read.
  7. I would suspect a lot of people. I have lived here my whole life and never realized that. Thanks for making the call to State! - Adam
  8. Wouldn't traveling from home to the range qualify (unloaded and secured) qualify as transport to a business PER IC 35-47-2-2. I guess I have just never heard of the need for a permit to transport weapons unloaded and secure, between locations in Indiana. Am I wrong or missing something?
  9. Lived here all my life and have never had any kind of permit to target shoot or "play around" in the back yard or at my Grandparents farm. Not saying it is not required, however if your neighbor's aren't to close and your shooting into a berm or farm field I don't think you would have any problems with the cops. my $.02 Adam
  10. Will my eye glass prescription work.... From my experience, No. They are slightly different scripts and you have to tell the doc you want contacts instead of glasses. And toric's have to be fitted. Drift - Had Lasik on Friday. Was very scared. Everything went ok and I can see great! It is expensive, but figure it will pay for itself in less than 5 years (no new glasses, contacts, or solutions). /drift off
  11. I put the cardboard and the plastic in the recycling bins. Hopefully the plastic gets recycled.
