  1. If they will kill dogs like that, they would most likely kill people in the right situation. I'm very glad Marcus didn't kill them. Even though they certainly deserved to be killed (in my book) things might not have worked out very well for him. My dogs are my kids too, but the courts probably wouldn't see it that way.

  2. I've read Saul's and Brian's books twice in the last 14 months. I will probably read Brian's book from now on. I just received Matt's video and spent the last hour adjusting my holster/mags. Pretty basic stuff, but I've had it wrong for the last year

Anyway, I have not finished the 2nd DVD yet, but I am pleased so far

  3. At least you got to go to the match, Trace! My one DQ so far was at Area 4, on my second stage. Had to shoot through four ports then open a door. Moving backward to the fourth port and reloading at the same time, I broke the 180. I got REALLY good at taping for the next day and a half!

You know what I'm feeling then  Are you shooting in Tyler this weekend?

  4. Sorry about having to DQ you. Hope you will come back and see us again. The weather wasn't good this year at all, I hope you will give it another shot. RM

No apology needed. I earned the DQ and I'm not upset with anyone other than myself. I learned from it and will put in it my tool box. I'll be there next year and hope to shoot the entire match  AND I will bring more clothes :roflol:

don't feel bad, Trace - my good friend, the RO who DQ'd you - finally finished more DTC's than he had been DQ'd from.... He got pipped on the first two, and has now succesfully made it through 3. He's very happy and we're proud of him for sticking with it.

    Good for him...............I think :roflol:

  5. Sorry about having to DQ you. Hope you will come back and see us again. The weather wasn't good this year at all, I hope you will give it another shot. RM

  6. Thanks guys  It would have been great to shoot the match.

That movement is something I should have worked on in practice or had the sense to figure out on the walk thru. It's just something I hadn't done before.

I ordered Burkett's videos from Brian last night which is something I should have done last year <_< Hopefully they will help

  7. I vote for a Tripp 6". I had a Brazos pro series and sold it to have Virgil build me a 6". I went from 28th last year at the double tap, with the Brazo's to 17th this year with the Tripp 6".

No doubt Scott, your Tripp gun is sweet, but your skills rock  I told Virgil this morning that I met you got to watch you shoot a few stages. Great job!

  8. What is a little more depressing is that it only took a few minutes to figure out what I did wrong and how to fix it. I always wondered why those fast guys ran with there pistol in a higher position with their elbow raised out to the side. Now I know! :roflol:

  9. Two words..........Virgil Tripp ;-)

His website doesn't look very promising...

Don't judge his guns by the quality of his website  Like I said, give him a call. You won't find a better guy to deal with. I agree with Bart on the Beddel guns and my next gun will probably be a Beddel Custom. They look great, are reported to be extremely reliable and it will save me nearly $300 in sales tax. The problem with living in Texas is you end up paying tax on guns built by Tripp, Brazos Custom, Benny Hill, Dawson Precision, STI, or SVI.

  10. I'm just getting into the sport, as some have already read from my first post, and would like to purchase a limited gun ~<$3K. I've read tons of great things about Brazo's, have already exprienced his great customer service, and am leaning his direction but in an effort to soak up as much information as possible, I thought I'd put this out there too to hear your thoughts. There are two others that I'm calling based off of suggestions (Benny Hill and Kodiak Precision).

Two words..........Virgil Tripp or Tripp Research

Look up Tripp Research on the net and give Virgil a call. Tell him what you want and what everyone else is charging for it. I think you will be happy with the price and the turn around time. His guns are very classy and EXTREMELY reliable. What else do you need. Just remember........he put the T in STI

  11. Get well Brother

By the way, I met a fellow from Washington shooting a 6" Tripp gun at the DTR. He was pretty darn wicked with it! He was 53 years old and kicked some serious tail :surprise:

Take it easy, forget the match next week and let your back heal. Add a little Crown to the mix and you will heal faster

  12. There may be another positive outcome from my short trip to the DTR...........on the way home, my wife inquired about purchasing a pistol for her to start shooting in the USPSA :surprise: It seems that after watching some of the female shooters walking around, she understood that "girly girls" can be shooters too! THANK YOU to all the female shooters at the DTR

  13. I've read on here many times that there are shooters who have Disqualified and there are shooters that will disqualify..........Well, now I've disqualified and it was a big one :surprise:

The sad thing is that it was my very first stage (stage 1) and I had only shot about 8 rounds. Truly sad I know <_<

Anyway, the stage required you to move towards the 180 to get around a corner to the next array of targets. As I started around the corner with my muzzle pointed toward the back berm, I swept my right arm with the muzzle. That was the end right there! It was a huge (expensive) leason learned.

On a very positive note, I got to meet a lot of very cool people (lots of brianenos forum members) and everyone was very understanding about my DQ.

I'm looking forward to the local match in Tyler next week so I can get back on that horse :roflol:

  14. Hell no, I ain't stickin no gummy piece of rubber into my fully functional gun to get all chewed up and jam the crap out of it when the mysterious life cycle of it runs out.

OK, ya, I tried on once. Made my Edge puke like a Para :surprise: .

My Benny Hill didn't come with one, so it's not getting one either. If Benny thought it needed one it would of had one when he shipped it to me.

Virgil Tripp is not a fan of them. But like one of the above posters stated, my Wilson CQB came with one and it does not cut them. BUT, I shoot my STIs a lot more than the CQB.

  15. I am very happy that on April 22nd I will be attending his class "The Bullet Proof Mind" I have been trying to get the boss to send us and he is now going to be close enough that I am getting to go. Can't wait :)

    Rick

You will leave that class 10 feet tall and bullet proof without the need for whiskey  He is an impressive speaker.

  16. Thank you all for the support, I really appreciate it.

Here's the deal: I have had some significant changes at my day job over the last several months, I am required to travel more (airplane on Monday morning, home late Friday night, etc) and so on. With business the way it is these changes are necessary for me to keep my job. I have a lot less time to work with now, consequently there have been delays and delays on delays. For that I am sorry. What it boils down to is I am not able to treat you guys the way I would want to be treated and it bothers me greatly. As a result I am making some changes in the operation and won't be taking on new projects for a while. Hopefully things will settle sooner than later but I am thinking late fall. All of the projects that are in the queue will be finished in the order that they were recieved and as soon as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated while I work through this.

I will try to get the pm box cleaned up when I have a little time, email addy is in my profile and works. I have some new technology to help me keep in touch while on the road but again patience is appreciated while I figure out how to use it LOL.

    Thanks, Howard,

Howard, take care of you and your family first. We love your magazines and hope you return in the fall
