Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It's a good thing J- Ho doesn't have that skinny rice farmer thing going or he might have departed stage 4 along with his oreintal top cap when that first gust of wind hit. Glad you all got home safely. Bob
  2. It sounds like you missed the hole in the barrel link with the slide stop pin. I would try grasping the gun by the slide with the left hand and drive the right hand into the rear of the grip to dislodge. If it gives be sure to continue rearward with the slide and try to get back to slide-lock. Bob
  3. Joe, I thought it was pretty crappy too. I purchased a used 012 from this forum and thought maybee something was funny with it. My expectation was that the trigger gaurd would go under the latch petals. Unless I really cranked down on the tension screw there was nothing keeping the pistol from coming up through. After numerous phone calls to Safariland and a new trigger module and some measuring of the gap under petals and front of trigger gaurd on 1911's it became clear that they were not going under the petals either. Take the trigger module out of the holster frame and slide your 1911 into it and you can see that the front of the trigger gaurd does not go under petals. If you look at the profile of the bottom of the petals you'll see that if the front of the trigger gaurd did go under them, youd never get it back out. Sguared edges and no ramp to push petals back out. My 1911's seem to snap in to but its all tension screw. I would not run with my pistol in this holster!! Bob
  4. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that didn't know how this holster worked!! I kept wanting the trigger gaurd to go under the bottom of the latch petals. Forget that. Take out the shim thats between the trigger block and the aluminum frame, Joe. That allows the bottom of the trigger gaurd to set deep enough for the top of the petals to engauge it when you push the trigger gaurd down through them. This keeps the trigger gaurd from coming through them in a foward direction only. The rest for an upward motion is done strictly by friction on the side of the trigger gaurd and is adjusted with the tension screw on the side. It only took me a new trigger block from safariland and hours of frustration to figure out how it's supposed to work and I still can't say I like it that much. Bob
  5. Is your system the standard model or the infra-red? My standard model has worked first time, every time and I have a very high opinion of this system. What time of day and what sun position are you having trouble?? I've done most of my cronying in the mid to late afternoon with the sun at my back. I've shot 9mm,40sw and 45acp accross it but I'm shooting from about 4to5 ft. from the muzzle to the first screen. Also I'm setting a target at about 30 yds. and at an appropriate height to be shooting accross the windows flatly and about 4 inches in height above the windows. Put a target dot on the target and line the skyscreens up on the target and go to town. You might try a different time of day, shoot a different direction in relation to the sun, make sure your timer is away from the muzzle, insure your allignment is good and the bullet is crossing both windows. If you can't get squared away call Pact. 1-800-PACT INC. They say they will get you squared away. Good luck. Bob
  6. Sorry you couldn't make this one Chris. Hope to see you next month. Take care. Bob
  7. I'll bet Danny can fix that Division error before sending in the classifier scores. We're still having computer problems. Mine won't download all the updates so we borrowed Scott's for this match. I'll have someone work on mine and we'll get squared away somehow or ta nother. Bob
  8. My understanding is that the new E-z score will automatically e-mail them out to all the shooters at the match if you have their e-mail address. ????hey- technology-???? What do I know? Bob
  9. John, Just e-mailed you results from todays match. You may get these again from danny. They were having trouble getting them to go out to everyone. Working on it. Bob
  10. Our first match today, after reaffilliating was a great success for this small club. We would like to sincerely thank all the shooters that made the long drive from Albuquerque, Mountainaire, Edgewood, and Carlsbad. The show of support from you folks warmed our hearts. Trust everyone got home safe and sound. Hope all enjoyed the stages and had a good time. We would liked to have been able to shoot with the other squad and get to know everyone else. Maybee next time. Will see you soon at the Albuquerque match. Bob
  11. Dawson Precision shows with factory rear their front sight is .155high with a .125 thick blade. Thats a ramped serrated FO, p/n 019-001, at $39.00.
  12. Series 80 has an internal firing pin safety block, making for to many extra and unneeded parts.
  13. Is the weatherman always wrong??? We got a light rain for about 1hr and no snow from this monster storm they have been talking about for days. The sun is out and it's supposed to be 60 degrees tommorow. We set up at 8:00am and match starts about 9:00 am. Probably more like 9:15. Range is NE of Roswell on US-70, Portales-Clovis highway. It is 3.2 miles east from the overpass on the south side of the highway, just past the DOT weigh station pull off. White sign says Roswell Gun Club at the white and yellow gate. IPSC-USPSA range is all the way to the back. Travel safe. Bob
  14. I have 7 or 8 Kimbers of various flavors and probably 50 Chip McCormick mags of various flavors. Shooting Star, Power mags, Tactical mags, 10 rounders. Every CMC mag that I have ever used worked flawlessly and all engage slide stop very reliably. Have seen some problems caused by shock buffers that are to thick, either slide stop wont engage or is hard to disengage. Try removing shock buff if you're running one and see if that changes anything. I prefer Wilson combat buffs. The blue ones. They're thinner than some others.. If not that, has someone worked on your slide stops for use with some other mag???? Bob
  15. And I thought that you had just come up with a new way of going prone at our last match. I wish I had audio to go with that picture. By the way, can I use that pic on our web site. I'll put it right next to the one with L J's tounge sticking out while he's shooting
