I don’t know what’s wrong, but I can’t find Shooters Innovations or this Tungsten grip anywhere. Can someone please provide a link?

If you download your big stick a few rounds and still have issues getting enough grip to seat it well, you can try adding skate tape to the mag body. There's plenty of real estate on a big stick mag to place some tape without any chance of it getting up into the magwell.
That’s a great idea! Thanks!

For a single stack .40, do you have to use “long” ammo like a 2011 or just the regular?

Unloaded starts are from bolt closed hammer down. So unless you spend time locking the bolt back before you start seating the mag there is not going to be a difference. I have seen younger shooters lock back as they have problems stuffing in a full mag. Solution would be to downdload the mag a few rounds. My main mag holds 57 but I can download it 7-10 rounds and still have way more than I need in a stage.
I can’t get big sticks to seat well. I seem to have better luck with the 17 rounders so I can really slam them in with my palm. Problem is that if it is an unloaded start with >17 rounds.

Thanks for these tips! I probably need to send my lowers to JP to get them milled out this winter too because I’m sure that’s also part of the problem.

The stroke has nothing to do with seating the mag.
I download mags for unloaded starts or mandatory reload stages.
Not the stroke per se, but perhaps it changes the spring pressure on the bolt, or room in there to seat the mag or something?

You’re being way too practical about this, haha

I guess my main question is will it mess up reloads or unloaded starts somehow, cause it’s already not very easy to jam the mag in for an unloaded start (for me, anyway)

I had a few mags swell after quite a bit of use. They would drop free when I first acquired them. I threw them in a milling machine and thinned them down a little. Probably several 5 gallon buckets of ammo later, they are still working great.
Can you mill some of mine for me please?

Can someone please explain how to sand the Glock big mags to drop free and insert easily on a JP GMR-15? Maybe some pictures and instructions? Also, does anyone know what the squared off tab is on the left side of the magazine? Can that be sanded off? Maybe the anatomy of the mag tube and the follower?

I’m not a fan. Caused feeding and cycling issues for me in Glock primarily.

In fairness to Vortex too, one of the other shooters on our squad had her Burris FF3 go out in the middle of a stage too. PCC.............

Yes, I already sent the riser back to Vortex once, they were great and replaced it with a brand new one, but this brand new one has started doing the same after about 2 months. (6-7 matches). On a side note, the Vortex Razor cut out in the middle of a stage too. I figured it was the battery, changed it, but it cut out again and seems to have an intermittent contact problem, so that’s going back to Vortex again soon too. While I shot, one of the other people on our squad helped her out and said he had one of those too. She asked if he liked his, and his response was, he has one of those too, haha. Turns out his is going back to Vortex too. Then another person on our squad told me he had 2 lasers go out on his PCC this year.
I get it, everything breaks and I think these PCCs are really tough on optics and gear, tougher than I would expect. I just think it would be disappointing if someone had these problems at a major match where they paid a lot of money for travel, etc. Maybe the tougher stuff like the Aimpoint for example is the way to go for increased reliability.
thanks for the Bobro suggestion. I checked out their website but can’t find anything that would work for this of from Larue. I bought the Master of Arms one, we’ll see how it works out. It’s kinda ugly, and my wife wasn’t thrilled with the looks. I also bought a Yankee Hill Machine 0.5 riser and some TruGlo 0.75 and 1.0 risers for her to try to get dialed in. They are not QD, and look more traditional. Undoubtedly one of these 4 things will work, lol. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Had same thing happen with the new one today. Optic didn’t fall off but lever opened. It made it probably 2 months without an issue. Now for the search for a new riser...Vortex had intermittent on off problems today as well. Maybe it’s just all the vibration. Maybe time to just bag Vortex and get an Aimpoint.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, haha

All of our local clubs allow us to carry the PCC stage to stage with the muzzle up and the chamber flagged. I have found the best flags to be the Arredondo PCC flags, and the easiest bags to be the Midway https://www.midwayusa.com/product/754325/midwayusa-heavy-duty-discreet-tactical-rifle-case
Unfortunately, seems like they’re sold out, likely due to the popularity of PCC. I wanted an easy bag, no pockets, light weight, a little padding so I don’t have to baby it, big enough I don’t have to put the stock in, cheap. This bag seemed to check all the boxes.

I prefer the ETS mags to the Glock mags with the MBX extensions, so it’s not like these opinions are universal...
-
I don’t like how it wiggles a little bit. Would prefer a more solid feel. For the most part, though, I agree, it’s fine. I still don’t understand the fang and how it’s supposed to be more comfortable. I would think it would catch on clothing easier. I heard it is somewhat more advantageous from a on the belt starting position, but is still don’t get it.
-
All you guys should definitely NOT use a laser!
-
What’s the advantage of that “Fang” pad?
-
How about a CR Speed belt?
-
What do you think the best stock to go on a GMR-15 would be? I would think lightweight would be good but also the right weight to keep things balanced?
-
In all fairness, my wife actually shoots that thing much better than I do. In fact, at one match one of the people waiting in the squad behind us after she shot said, “Well, I guess we know who’s grabbing the kids and who’s grabbing the guns, huh?” Lol
-
Haha yes, my wife liked my GMR-15 so much that I had to buy another one for myself so I could actually use one, lol. I suspect you’ll get the PSA back and she’ll keep the GMR-15!!
