Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I live in the Panhandle of Texas. It cast me $600. to go to Nats in Tulsa and $1600. to go to Nats in Vegas. My vote would be fore Tulsa....... If it rained in Vegas During Nats the conditions would have been no better then in Tulsa. Maybe its not the location so much as the dates.. I think it pretty much is the location.....if you looked at the weather last week it was raining in Tulsa and Barry. There is absolutely no doubt that the southwest has much more predictable weather in the late summer early fall.....now we can debate all day whether or not that particlular weather is desirable but that is another discussion. Just to correct this statement there was NO rain in Barry the week of Nationals. Temperatures were 70's for highs and lows in the 50's. Best week of the year here and I was in the desert in Vegas. I'm for PASA but I might be a little biased.
  2. You would be in Limited. No Lim 10 division. Hope you can make it! Rumor has it Max will be there to shoot the match.
  3. There will be No match hotel. Registration will be the morning before the match starts at the range. Below are some local hotels you woulddn't see on the interent. Any other Quincy or Hannibal motel would do. Thanks Ray Hirst Ice House - (Barry, IL) 217-335-3377 Green Acres - (Pittsfield, IL) 217-285-2166 Althoff - (Quincy, IL) 217-228-2460 Holiday Inn Conference center (NEW Quincy, IL) 217-223-7800
  4. Plenty of slots left. Don't miss the match, it will be a good one. Ray
  5. Nope. We will not use the USPSA classes only. I may use a system based on USPSA, IDPA and steel challenge scores. USPSA is a little heavy on classes IMO. I still need to talk to Tom about it but i'm leaning towards a Pro (USPSA GM), Semi-Pro, (USPSA Master), Amateur (USPSA A & B CLASS) and Beginner (USPSA C & D CLASS). We would relate the IDPA classes and steel challenge scores into those groups as well. I'm going to sit down with Tom at Single Stack Nationals and go over it with him. If you've never shot anything you would be a beginner. Second year (next year) we would base your class on where you finished in the match as well if you didn't have a USPSA/IDPA classification. 90% or better score Pro, 80-90% score Semi-Pro. 50-80% score Amateur, below 50% Beginner. You would be allowed to declare into a higher division if you want. If you declare in Beginner and shoot above all the amateurs entries then you get busted out of Beginner and into the class you shot Semi Pro. No sand baggers please. Hope you can make the match, it will be a good one. Ray
  6. Gmantwo, I'm pretty much filled up on staff at this time. I may need a few more if the match fills up which it hasn't yet. I'll keep you on the list of stff to be added if there is a need, best I can do. Make a note of that on your match application. Like Tom said there is a Production class. USPSA classes will be used if the match fills and there is a need to recognize the classes. If a RO wants to shoot a second gun it's $100 same as a second gun for the paying customers. I'll get the stages complete and post them here in the next few weeks. I was waiting to get a better count on poppers and the steel at PASA before I finalized the stages. I just don't get to PASA much in the winter. I didn't want to draw up something and put it out there and then have to pull it back. Hope everyone can make the match it's going to be a lot of fun that's all I can promise. Ray
  7. The fastest time on this match wins. Missed Poppers, plates, etc on the USPSA style stages will add the same time penalty that a missed plate would on the Steel Challenge stages. Any other questions feel free to post them here or email Tom Drazy or I about them. Our emails are on the application. This is a start up match so there will be bugs to work out the first year. I can only promise you great stages and lot's a good shooting. 500 rounds if you don't miss. Hope everyone can make it! Thanks Ray Hirst
