Man I look young in that picture!

Ahhh...I get it! Your not shooting 3-gun, your shooting "IF"SC . Kinda like if I hadn't of lost the last 3-gun match I shot, I would have won. We either learn or we IF, hard to do both! Now where is that little green guy with the joint?

I reconfirmed the NV sight zero on my 458 Socom's EoTech, and its I.R laser zero at 100 yrds. Time to make bacon! I know it is on because I made a Racoon
very sleepy at 43 paces. Got to love the good old N.O.D.s. I figure if you can do a snap shot with N.O.D.s on, day light with a light recoiling poodle shooter ain't nothing.

Wow, that made my head swim! Wally World Federal 3 DRAM 1 1/8 ounce 7.5 or 8. Choke up a bit if it is "far".....all this if it is far I use X if it is hard I use X..... too much crap!!!

I am interested in what Pat comes up with on this one. I know what I would do, but then again I used to build them for the all service teams.

No mount or scope will live for long on any M-14 type rifle. The receiver flexes way too much when fired. Crane used to weld on the Sadlak mount and after a while it would break. Many mounting system have been tried, even a dedicated receiver, and in the end they all fail, or the scope fails. One of the best iron sight rifles made, if built right, but never a good platform for an optic. As for Pat and his M-14,s....it was the rifle and the rifle prop. When two things come together perfectly you tend to get perfection.

Yes synthetic....which is a nylon BTW, Still needs at least a two stage bedding process, the only thing is it is hard to get enough down tension at the front feral to really stabilize the barrel without getting the receiver and trigger group way out of square, but it can be done. The trick is finding people who really know what they are doing on an M-14.
-
Barrel life around 5-6000 rounds.
Accuracy can be sub moa with propper bedding and tuning.
On my rifle I'm on my 6th barrel.
Magazine changes can be done as fast or faster than an AR. Just do a bit of searching, I've posted the technique many times as has Brian and maybe Pat has a video.
Most common problem. The owner not knowing how to maintain it, and miss matching powder burn rate to bullet weight. Keep your gas system tight!!!

Why is it happening? Well it is happening because your port was opened up too far. I.E. they "Eff Ewed " your receiver. Now you get to spend even more money and get one of Mark Ruth's captured follower magazine tubes, or buy a new receiver and find a new person to port it who knows what they are doing.
-
I'm not surprised.
-
Sure, as long as you put it in the right place.
-
Don't matter none as long as you use a lube....especially in the right places. Hell even hand cream works as long as it goes in the right area!
-
All these answers are quaint. Since 96 my extended choke has been abused, dropped, banged on props, ditched, spiked, jamed, etc. Because I run a short tube, it has been the first point of contact........I still don't need a new choke, but please make up some kind of protector for the choke tube in your gun......you will sell a million of them.......or not
-
Hmmm, I've never bent an extended choke, ever, and I have never run long tubes.

So Jadeslade were you able to figure out what spring it needed from the picture? Would a picture of the front bead help? Recoil pad maybe?

On a serious note, our rules very specifically state all ammunition MUST make the minimum power floor for the respective division. We don't list it by caliber.
We also allow magazine fed shotguns in tac non magnified and tac optic, 8 round mags no comps, no dots.
-
We allow them, the rule reads "any sandbag attached to the rifle must be attached at all times. You may not install or remove after the first shot is fired. This only applies to sandbags 80 pounds and heavier, lighter sandbags are not allowed"

I was offering to race my M1 Benelli against your 1301, in lieu of your observation and all. BTW, both of these guns are made in Italy so perhaps the M3 analogy isn't quite right.
-
I wasn't calling you out, I was saying do it. As Austin pointed out, all you have to do to just rack shells out is to hold the little lever by the trigger up as you rack the bolt. Maybe start by removing this little lever entirely and see what happens. Remember I said maybe, I didn't tell you that it would work, that is for you to decide to do or not.
-
I'll race my old M1 Ferrari with ya El Tigre. I probably don't know how to "drive it", but I'm game!
-
If you have the skills to pretty much do anything, "disable" this feature and tell everyone how you did it. I am sure there are lots of folks who would like to know how.
-
Hey, try it already! If it doesn't work out you can always put a blank in the dove tail slot and drive on! Hell you can even drill and tap the blank for a mid rib bead again...no down side. Quit treating your shotgun like it is an altar, it is a tool that can, and will, over it's life time, be hacked on tuned up and ultimately destroyed

Bambi vs. Godzilla is a pretty good you-tube video, as well as Boo, armadillo.
MGM Spinner and slugs at 40 yards. Gun it or run it?

IF an Eel jumps out and he snaps off your snout it,s a moray.....sung to the tune of the old Dean Martin song, " It,s amoray" If, If, If
"If" is the word we use to feel better about the words "Ah CRAP!"
"IF" is the middle word in life!
Oh yeah, well like man, it,s also the middle word in you know, WIFE!
