  1. It was a 20 round stage with an empty gun start. If you push it, you can save a load and shoot 8 rds paper and 2 rds steel from each side. It was a pretty even split on our squad, some guys tried, a couple connected, and some just threw in the extra load. But like was said earlier, pretty easy to tell when some one throws a miss on a 20 rd stage and still only does one reload??? Darrion's cool about it though. He's making full use of those high cap SP-01 mags.

TGO did something interesting on this stage. after shooting 4 paper and 2 steel, he reloaded, racked, then reloaded again, to give him 10 + 1 going in the final array (4 more paper, 2 more steel). in the end, he didnt need the extra round.

That makes me feel a little better b/c that is exactly what I did. I picked up the gun and loaded a 10rd mag while moving to the left. Shot 4 static and two steel, gun went to slide lock. I loaded a mag, hit slide release and dropped the mag and loaded another mag while running to the right. That gave me 10 +1 for the 4 static and 2 steel left. I didnt need the extra round in the chamber, but it helped knowing it was there.

Had plenty of time to make two mag changes.

Id love to say great minds think alike, now I just need to shoot like it!!:lol:

  2. Wait til you take out the extractor pin. What a bear!!!! Holy crap, that pin almost never came out, and then didn't want to go back in. That is one of the hardest gun related smithing things Ive ever done. That pin wasn't ever coming out!!!

  3. Wow!!!

I know Dave did it last year in Lim10, but that was a different story being 10rd stage diagnosing and all, Dave had a little bit of an advantage (more so than the normal shooter) knowing and being used to diagnosing stuff with 10rds.

Considering your reasoning, with Dave obligated to shoot a lot of Production, how many Limited titles COULD he have won if he were use to shooting more matces in Limited??? ?

I think this is the first season that Dave has primarily focused on shooting Limited at major matches and practice, rather than shooting more Production. After all, Dave RUNS Production and has numerous Prod National titles. I think he was getting a little intrigued on shooting Limited primarily for a year and seeing what he could really do. I guess he answered that!!

    Also, BTW,

    GREAT JOB DIRTYPOOL!!!!!!!

Helluva finish Eric, congrats bro, I see Andrea must have pushed you out of the house to practice quite a bit before the Nats for that kind of finish. All my best to you both.

  4. Thanks for the update Manny. You are my pick to win it all this year!! You've been smoking all year long at Area matches and I'd love to say that I took a class from the National champ the same year he won it!

Come on Manny, or do I have to remind you of the lessons you drove into my head? Sight lift, trigger prep, focus. You'll do fine I'm sure.

Good luck Manny, I'll pulling for ya!!

  5. I dont think Prod is broken, there is always going to be some/slight issues with rules, but I think Prod is the fastest growing division and with some clarification of the CURRENT rules, it should be left alone otherwise.

I think Prod is opened up enough to allow breathing room, but not so tight that you cant do anything to the gun and have to shoot it with the manufacturers packing grease still on the gun. Its not this popular and grown like this b/c the current rules are that bad.

Plus, some of the modifications are not race gun mods. It is merely a shooter doing small/minor things to make the gun more shootable/with a better personal feel or tweak for them. Nothing more. I havent seen any Prod guns that have been tricked out for race that would destroy the division. Im not saying they're not out there, but if so, I dont think there are that many.

Also dont forget, its not the gun that makes the difference. A little more tricked out gun does NOTHING more for the shooter. I think in their mind it does, but thats all. The guys who practice their a$*@s off are the ones winning and ruling the division.

    Just my .02

  6. Doesnt IDPA have the weight limit rule or something to that effect? I disagree with having the crossover w/ IDPA. I know the CZ I shoot in Prod is not allowed in IDPA for whatever reason, I think the weight. It is like 1 oz or something over.

The crossover issue around our area (and most from the majority of shooters Ive talked to at different matches around the US) is not that high and when there is a crossover, it is shooters coming to USPSA, not leaving and going to IDPA.

USPSA needs to do whats best for USPSA Production and not worry about the crossover.
