  1. The Gun runs very dependably, it has a 20 inch benelli barrel with the stock rifle sights.

At 15 yards it will shoot a slug 6+ inches high,

At 50 yards, 18+ inches High.

At 100 I couldn't get it to hit the paper, 2 feet X 4 feet I held at the bottom.

So I have some ideas of what to do to try and get the gun shooting.

I don't have a barrel bending jig, but I do have a shop and if no other suggestion comes in,

I'm gong the barrel bending route, first, sights down, and put pressure right in the middle, and keep doing test shots until???????? Something happens.

Any other good Ideas,,, Will be appreciated

Did you ever get your Benelli shooting strait?

YES,,, ended up putting new sights on it,, works well!! did the silver sodering and all that,, in a buddies Garage,,,

  2. Thank you! For another great match!

Even with Luke’s (Trip) to DQ 9 Dairy Queen!

we had a good time and enjoyed the always unique scenic adding to the challenge only the RM3G can offer!

Thanks to the RO’s friendly and knowledgeable. That kept the match moving! And kept it enjoyable!

It will be fun to look through the scores to see the numbers verifying that yes I am now OLD and SLOW!

    Can’t wait for next year!

  3. I hear ya,,, he is my Sponsored Shooter!! he will shoot his 3rd RM3G this year!!! great Father and Son time!

Ahh... to be young with perfect vision, cat-quick reflexes and my old man to provide me with ammo, guns and match fees....

Well that never happened for me so I'll just have to return to reality where I'm an old fart, with corrective lenses, sloth-like reflexes and paying my own way. :roflol:

Seriously. Treasure all of the time you are spending together enjoying a common activity. It really doesn't get any better.

  4. My Son 15

Beat me At Saturdays 3 Gun match!

This is the First time! :surprise:

Texas Multi-Gun, at Best of the West Range, in Liberty Hill!

    He did it stright up.

He came in. 14th I came in 15th.

    A Proud father I am!

Congrats to Luke on besting his Old Man. Luke's not just a talented shooter, but a fine young man all the way around. Jim, I suspect this is the first of many thrashing's he'll be handing out in the years to come.

    Thanks,,,

    THRASHINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bring it on!

  5. I am finishing up my Open Shotgun (Remington 1100) my Burris Speedbead will be here Tuesday & I am not sure what distance I should zero it??? Let me know where you guys are at & why!

    Thanks in advance.

I used to zero at 50,,, and hold high for 100,, now I just zero at 100.

and hold dead center,,, at 50,,, the drops or rise is not that much,,

100 yards is about max for most slug shooting,, so having the gun,, ready for that hard shots,

  6. JJ you mean like,,, Satans little helpers opps,,, I mean Santas little helpers :roflol:

Kind of funny,, all the Tac Optic 3GN,,,

as for Gamer!! we are all Gamers!:surprise:

I get a good Laugh, everytime I hear someone say " Gamer" with that negitive tone. once a wile I'll ask,, are you,, Mil?,,, LE?,,, X-Box Commando!

Can't wait for this match!!!!!!! I think of this as a true 3 Gun match as all 3 System capabilities are, pushed.

    Thank you. JJ!!!

I'll be Cussing you at some point, ,,, but in a good way!

Yeah, I'm a gamer. I can live with that. I shot CO state in HM as a last minute division change, just to keep HM open for a buddy of mine. I didn't expect to do well and was pleased to find I was competitive in the division. Likewise, I was pleased to find I was actually competitive at HeMan Nats. I like Tac Optics, but with all of the 3GN focus on that division, you simply disappear in to obscurity, if you are not one of the top guys. I enjoyed shooting HM at the other two matches so much, I thought I'd give it a try at RM3G as well. Besides, the Whittington Center cries out for big guns.

The rifle I borrowed was a custom built LRB with a Krieger Match Barrel, and thier proprietary scope rail reciever. It shot outstanding in both irons and scoped divisions. It was kinda fun bing the only guy at HM Nats with a scoped M1A.

    Jim,

You know, I do get a little help... :)
