  1. S&B primer pockets give me and my 550 absolute s%$t fits... it gets tossed into the sell for scrap weight bucket with all of the odd caliber rifle brass I pick up. It's easy to spot as all of it I have come across has a red primer pocket. I also pass on Amerc when I can spot it.

  2. ..........................I like a consistent trigger pull not DA/SA. ......................................

I know what you mean. I can never get used to a DA first, SA 2nd shot. But the thing about the CZs is you can have your cake and eat it too. I have a CZ85. I carry it and shoot it in compition cocked and locked. No need to go DA/SA if you dont want to.

Unless the rules for Production changed, you'll need to de-cock that pup and suffer with the rest of us in DA for the first shot ;)

My SP01 I bought from Angus Hobdell was accurate, superbly balanced, but in the end, too temperamental with the loads I ran through it. When you turn in a 2% on a classifier due to multiple FTFs and FTEs, you either find another hobby or find another way to play. I found another way to play.

I loved the trigger work on mine as well and may be looking at giving another 75 or 85 a home here in the safe. I may be pestering Matt to work one up for me as well. Glad to hear yours is treating you right.

  3. I would gladly help you make room in your Amana, but I'm too far away for the contents to arrive in decent shape. It's a damned shame that things like this happen, but they do.

I remember the plight of the Key Deer in South Florida early-mid 80's. Due to record rains, all of their habitat was flooded out and they starved as well due to all of their food being underwater and they had nowhere to sleep. :(

  4. that word is just...... queer.

    adj. queer·er, queer·est

    1. Deviating from the expected or normal; strange: a queer situation.

    2. Odd or unconventional, as in behavior; eccentric. See Synonyms at strange.

    3. Of a questionable nature or character; suspicious.

    4. Slang Fake; counterfeit.

    5. Feeling slightly ill; queasy.

  5. I lost track of this thread or would have replied sooner... my apologies.

    Here's what I have done to mine {so far} :

replaced standard captured guide rod with tungsten rod so I can change recoil springs as needed when dialing in loads

replaced recoil spring with an 11#, and keep a 13# and 15# on hand for heavier loads.

replaced striker spring with a lighter one... I forgot the weight :o it makes a huge difference

had the trigger reworked by a local that Nemo referred me to, one Gary Mooney. 3 1/2 # of crispy goodness with a miniscule reset. SWEET.

replaced front sight with Dawson F.O, the rear factory Novak suffices for now. ;)

replaced factory magazine basepads with Taylor Freelance ... adds +4 in .40 with the next item

replaced factory magazine spring with +10% springs for reliability and feel

    added SSS aluminum magwell

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. I am sure there are other things that I have done but have forgotten. It is 100% reliable with my loads and has never failed me at a match and only once in practice due to a striker leg shearing off. I find it a good platform to start with and maybe roll with for awhile. I'm not shooting matches right now for various reasons, but I'll be back soon and running with my M&P.

  6. The Taylors come with their own springs, too.

hmmm mine didn't  At any rate, I use a heavier spring in mine, as the factory one seemed too loose. Loose as in not enough spring pressure for my tastes. I prefer a lot of spring pressure, I don't mind that I only get +4 in my .40.

I have owned the Arredondo's as well, but as was mentioned, they don't work with the SSS magwell I have. I didn't get the impression that the A's would stand up to the abuse my magazines go through and the Taylors have done so quite well.

  7. Yep same here ...the tool 2 houses down thinking no one would pick out the sub-sonic Aguila ammo fired out of his 10-22. Had a not so nice chat with him at 11:30 last night. WTH is the matter with these idiots? Finger on trigger = frontal lobe disengage? :angry2:

  8. Sorry to hear your frustration... I personally find it relaxing as it is a break from my daily world of viewing a bank of widescreen monitors for 10 hours/day. The repetitive motion is soothing and I like the finished product piling up. Different strokes and all that I suppose.

  9. After having to deal with the reversed safety on my Beretta Neos, and observing that it forced me to keep my trigger finger somewhere else, like say the safety, I tried it on my M&P. It completely hosed my grip.. I wasn't able to reacquire a stable platform after a reload without excessive movement. If you can master this, more power to you.
