Well, my 11-87 bound up this weekend, and it looks like the magazine tube has pulled about 1/4 inch out of the receiver. I bought this shotgun with the intent of using it in 3-gun, but haven't done anything to alter it yet, it still has dimples in the mag tube and its original 26 inch barrel. What would you do with it? I have some background in silver solder and brazing, but I know I would bugger up the finish. If so I could finish it with gunkote I guess. Maybe I should send it off to be fixed. Anyone have experience with re-brazing these things?
My original plan was to add a mag tube, 10/22 sight, side saddle, and oversize bolt handle and call that good. I could still strip it down and use it for duck season that way. Maybe I should just go whole hog and have it cut back and retubed.
