  1. I prefer machining the comp to time it. Of course, I do have access to a machine shop and a whole lot of guys that know how to run them. Before I started working here, I used peel washers. I could peel the layers to allow me to tighten to hand tight and time correctly. Liberal amounts of Lock Tite 262 ensured that it wouldn't come off. YMMV.
  2. All, Tac Pro Shooting Center will be having a 3 gun tactical match on Saturday, October 18. There will be 5 stages - one rifle, one shotgun, one rifle/shotgun combo, one pistol/shotgun combo and one surprise stage. About 100 Rifle, 100 pistol, 100 birdshot and ten slugs should cover everything. IMG rules, plaques for first and second overall, prize table will be by random drawing. Current sponsors include: DPMS Sabre Defence LaRue Tactical Spec.-Ops Brand SWFA - Riflescopes.com Badger Ordnance Lone Star Armory Cheaper Than Dirt CMMG Cold Steel Springfield Armroy Infinity Firearms Directions and entry form can be found at www.tacproshootingcenter.com Come out and shoot with us!
  3. For a while, there was a Midway exclusive Euro Diamond. It was 1-4, non illuminated with the XTR reticle. One of my coworkers has one. I have not had a chance to take my XTR out and put some serious time in with it. I'm hoping to do that sometime in November.
  4. Dave, I ran into the same issue with every TR21 I've looked through. I doubt there's anything wrong with his scope. The eye relief that the manufacturers list is more of a guide line than anything else. What is actually needed is going to vary based on each individuals eye sight. The way his eyes are working with the scope requires a good amount of eye relief.
  5. Derek, I run a cheekweld almost identical to you. When I had a TR21, I used an arms super extended rail with Leupold QRW rings and it worked great. I have one of the Burris XTR 1-4's, and it seems to me to have noticeably less eye relief than the TR21. I've got it in a LaRue SPR-E on a 16" gun and it seems to be working fine.
  6. Brian, Too bad you can't make nationals! Heal up soon man. We'll see you down the road. Monte
  7. Kelly, He said he runs a nose to charging handle cheek weld, and the TR21 does have a lot of eye relief. I ran into the same issue when I had a TR21. I just ran an ARMS super extended rail and medium height Leupold PRW rings. That set up sits a bit lower than the LaRue SPR mount. The LaRue is just a bit too high for my preference.
  8. I've always sighted in at 25, but that TRUBL character has me convinced that I should try the 50 yard zero. DOH! Monte
  9. I'm in need of a standard synthetic stock for an M1S90 field or tactical gun. Unfortunately, Benelli wants $136 for a chunk of hollow plastic. Anybody know where to find one that doesn't cost a week and a half or two weeks worth of gas? Thanks!
  10. 10-8 performance makes a taller than normal rear sight (they say it's the same as the Springfield OEM rear) to fit in a Novak cut. You can see them here: http://www.10-8performance.com/id14.html I just installed one on my SP01. It looks good, and allows me to zero at 25 yards with an OEM height front sight.
  11. Take a good follower and measure its width and length, then call CPMI. I know that EAA used to use two different size frames and mags. I believe they are using the larger size for everything now. IF the followers from CPMI are for the large (.38 super) mags, then they probably won't work for the CZ. Let us know what you find out.
  12. I can understand. Ya'll did a heck of a job putting the match on. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't think I did worth a damn on the side matches, but what the hell. I enjoyed it.
  13. What about scores for the team shoot and side matches? I didn't see them listed.
  14. Changing the aperture is easy. Drift the roll pin out of the windage knob. Be careful not to lose the (tiny) spring and detent. Back off the windage screw until the aperture is free. Install the new aperture and replace the windage knob. The instructions are included with the aperture (provided you buy the XS aperture listed at the above website). Should take about five minutes.
  15. Steve's website isn't up yet. The address on his card is http://www.anythingfromwood.com Steve does some awesome work. The match trophies from the first two DTC matches were his creations as well.
  16. Robert definitely does take care of those of us who RO. I will continue to RO at the DTC as long as Robert will let me. Monte
  17. I would have to say that all of the shooters did a pretty good job taping and setting the stages. Sure made life easier for those of us who were ROs. It helped keep the match moving.
  18. Robert, Thanks to you and Steve for working your butts off to get the match running. It was excellent as usual. To all of the other ROs, It was great working with ya'll. I think we all did a damn good job at keeping the match running and helping the shooters have a good time. To all the shooters, Thanks for coming out to play. It was nice to see everyone there and I look forward to seeing you again next year (if not before)! Monte
  19. I agree with Kurt. We need more people shooting iron sights!
  20. I can't remember OAL, but it just barely clears a Glock mag. I'm running 125 Zero JHPs, with 4.4 gr Titegroup for 1151 fps and a 142 power factor in my SP-01.
