  1. Glock 34 flat spring......10lb....but my slide is over 2oz lighter than stock
  2. Zero issues......yes, changed the recoil spring and main spring for competition ammo....
  3. Unfortunately I have added an optic, cut the slide and done a few other mods already so Im too far into it......the gun has been stone cold reliable so far and a great platform.....the DW attitude just sucks and unavailability of basic parts is unconceivable.....
  4. Thats the solution.....had that issue myself and thats what I did.....been fine ever since. I now run a 3.5lb trigger.
  5. Well......its official....if we need any parts for the DWX we are out of luck. Im actually disgusted following my conversation with Dan Wesson customer service a few minutes ago. The events: I have sent multiple emails and left multiple messages with both CZ USA and Dan Wesson customer service over the last 3 weeks. I never received ONE call or response. IDID actually get to speak in person with CZ USA and was told they do not support any parts for the DWX and forwarded me to DW cstomer service (left message). Today I called DW and waited 25 minutes before I finally got someone. I told him I need service parts for the DWX like firing pin and spring, extractor and spring/pivot pins and perhaps a slide stop. First he told me these parts are on the website to which I responded that Im on the site and NONE of these parts are available. He then asked whats wrong with the gun, my reply was nothing wrong that I run the gun in competition and just want to have a few service related spare parts on hand as I do with my Staccatos/SIGs. Put me on hold for 5 more minutes, came back and told me that its a "hand fitted" pistol and the gun would need sent in to DW if it breaks, they dont supply those parts. He then condescendingly asked if I knew what "hand fitted" meant to which I repled that firing pins and extractors would not be considered hand fitted parts. Put me on hold again for 8 mins, came back and said the pistol needs sent back for ANY work needed and they do NOT send out these parts. Heres the best part....I told him that wasnt acceptable for an expensive pistol used in a competition environment and I need his name....my name is "Buster"......whats your last name...Buster, ok, whats your first name...Buster is the name I use and the responses come from our gunsmith, whats his name....we dont give out that info. So my final question...is this the FINAL answer from DW that they will NOT supply parts and that the "hand fitted"pistol needs to be shipped back for service? Yep....cant help you Bud, thanks for calling, have a nice week. This is complete BS. CZ or DW should tell buyers or possible buyers that these parts are not available for purchase and the gun needs sent back. I guess I need to shoot it until it breaks or get rid of it now.....not many options. Unbelievable......pretty pissed right now.
  6. just spoke with CZ USA parts.......CZ does NOT carry parts for the DWX, its Dan Wesson only......I left a message......lets ee what happens.
  7. When I cut mine it got cerakoted which is now showing a bit of holster wear at the nose......when its gets tatty I will just have the stainless shot blasted and run a raw stainless finish.
  8. That setup is for the 1911 and the rod looks way short...
  9. Like I said....the rod is a bit shorter (approx 1/2-3/4") but it runs fine.....doesnt beat the slide up.....fairly flat with 147gr.
  10. G34 rod with stock 11lb spring....
  11. I run a G34 gen 5 guide rod.....a tad shorter than stock bt runs well and fits all the glock spring options...
  12. The "lasting" isnt my concern......its the crudding up behind the extractor lever......removal for cleaning is a chore...
  13. Sorry..........meant mag release...
  14. That pistol looks great.....congrats! The only other "issue" when the gun has an optic mounted is the extractor pin...it needs to be shortened since it now contacts the bottom of the optic base or plate if you have one. This means the optic needs removed to remove the optic...PITA. I actually drilled a relief hole in my optic mounting plate to allow the pin to pass thru into the plate, this means while I still need to remove the optic to remove the pin, now I dont need to also remove the plate. I probably wont remove/change the extractor but once a year so its probably ok. Now that I have cut the slide the balance is very good and it transitions well for a full size gun.....very controllable and very accurate.
  15. I really dont have an issue with the stock safety OTHER than the two hands needed to push it and release the mag.....WAAAY to strong a spring......I stretched the stock release spring and cut about 2 coils off....now its perfect
  16. I can cloverleaf 3 rds at 25 rds off the bag with my S2 with an SRO.....they are plenty accurate....Fiocchi 115gr
  17. I have shot 2011's for a while now and moved to the DWX from my Staccatto P Tuxedo......these are the things I like.....external extractor vs the "tuned" 2011 extractor which needs adjustment after a few thousand rounds (PITA). Ramped non link barrel, no grip safety, cheap(er) quality mags with actual round count holes in the rear vs 5/10/15. CZ grip which feels better for me than the straight back 2011. 1911 trigger and triple leg sear spring. Multiple grip options. I shoot both very well but like the DWX better and shoot it better in a short time using it. No more mag or extractor issues.
  18. Guncuts also cut for the optic and provided the custom plate.....it now meets IDPA weight for carry optics @ 44.8oz (limit is 45oz)
  19. I had my slide lightened and laser cut at Guncuts.com.....they have done quite a few for me and do a great job.
