Frame holes Legal for SS

I have a Colt 1911 that has been used for NRA Bullseye,it has holes drilled in the dust cover of the frame to facilitate the installation

of a frame mounted optic. I want to remount the iron sights and use it in Single Stack.

Question ,will this be legal ?

I just read through the SS rules and I didn't see anything that would specifically disallow holes.

I don't think the holes provide significant weight reduction or were intended for that purpose so I don't see why they would be illegal.

In addition, all the rules I read talked about holes in the slide.  I didn't see any that addressed holes in the frame.

Thanks, that is the  problem, I looked at the rule book, it does not say anything a bout the frame ,just the slide

Having considered the same question, I think if you fill them with set screws, I don't see any argument against the gun having validity.  

In the past, I've sent USPSA an email, gotten their answer, and then if it's in my favor I just printed it and"filed" it in my range bag in case it comes up at a match.
