m610
loading for 625-10, want maximum accuracy out of pleasant load. Can use 200-250g cast lead or 230 g FMJ. Never have loaded AR before. Had good results with W231 5.1g 230FMJ or 225 TC lead.
Boats
I used to load ARim for my 1917 S&W. Ran the loads a bit milder than 1911's and a lighter bullet too. My old load book shows 5.6 of Unique and a 200 gr SWC. 1917 service revolvers with the factory grip are not real recoil freindly. Now I have two 625's and never use the AR. Moon Clips are just so easy and the brass is less expensive. Clays has replaced Unique and W231 as my 45 powder too. Boats
Wayne Dobbs
I've been shooting AR in my 625 Mountain Gun and it's a deer killing machine. My load is as follows: 255 Mount Baldy Keith SWC 6.5 grains Unique Starline AR case WW LP primer Runs about 875 and groups into 3" at 50 yards in my revolver. m610
thanks for the recipes gents..... while powder is becoming more available in my area, I still can not find Clays. Used to use it for clean burning mild big bore pistol loads, and a buddy uses it for shotgun shells. Will be looking for a few pounds.
wide45
When Clays dried up in my area, I got a pound of E3. So far, I can't tell the difference.
