Different trigger designs

While going through my parts bin, I came across two triggers I have. One I've had for awhile, the other came in a pre-owned 34 I just bought.

The one on the left is the older one. Note how smooth it is. The one on the right was in the pistol recently acquired. It has distinct segments/sections along the cruciform. Is this a new or old design, or is it for a different model Glock altogether?

A handful of years ago Glock started making more and more parts here in the United States. Along with that there have been changes to the tooling dies used to create various parts. My new Glock has internals that look slightly different from older two-pin models, and it is probably due to Glock changing the way they make the parts to streamline the process.
