leam
Okay, up front I'm not expecting to win anything. However, Gibbs is making a 1903A4 sniper rebuild available. Anyone know about these and how good they are, shootability wise? http://www.gibbsrifle.com/1903-a4_sniper_rifle.html Thanks! Leam
uscbigdawg
Whole bunch of Germans will attest to the accuracy and function of this rifle. Rich
leam
Yup, sort of. I'm finding mixed reviews and some potential for danger. m1903.com Q&A notes a rumor that they may be using old drill team receivers. http://www.m1903.com/qna_m1903/qna.php?expand=524 There are reports of low numbered receivers failing catastrophically. Even though the risk percentage is within what we face every day, it's obviously significantly higher than the norm for shooting. http://m1903.com/03rcvrfail/ So the resolution might be to find out what's the receiver's original number. Since I plan on doing some long range shooting and I like to shoot, I'm going to be recurringly hitting upper limits on pressures. I'll call Gibbs up next week and see what I can find out. Thanks! Leam I had a 1903A1 That was a tack driver they are nice collectible rifles that are accurate but if I was you my friend I would save my money and have a rifle built custom to your needs.
