ima45dv8 Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Man hijacks car ‘to get to court’ By KATIE LESLIE The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Tuesday, June 09, 2009 A man is under arrest in Lawrenceville this morning after police say he hijacked a car at gunpoint because he needed to get to court. The call came in after 9 a.m. today, said Lawrenceville Police Capt. Jeff Smith. Police are still at the scene with the suspect, whose name was not immediately available. Smith said the victim called authorities and reported that the suspect took the car at gunpoint, explaining “he had to get to court.” Officers at the municipal courthouse in Lawrenceville arrested the suspect shortly after as he pulled into the parking lot, Smith said. “You can’t make this stuff up,” Smith said.
