yarbsea
So I set my new 550B up, loaded about 50x .223 rounds. Everything was setup as per the video. I checked the brass before and after resizing to make sure they didn't exceed the maximum case length. I don't have a trimmer. So now I am paranoid that since I adjusted the resizing die with a random "in spec" piece of brass, that it's not set correctly. Should I have used a trimed to .1750 brass to adjust the resizing die, or does that not even matter to it's operation? It is set to produce a headspaced peice of brass as per the case guage... D.Hayden
You normally check the brass length, and trim if needed, after resizing. If after reszing, the length is ok for your use.. you're good to go.

warpspeed
I have always set the size die using a gauge.
