heavy metal
I have some questions for all shooter who use cast bullets: 1) what caliber and weight in pistol round do u like best? 2) how many cast lead bullets do u buy and how often? 3) do u believe it's unsafe to shoot someone elses reloads? And would you? 4) if you were offered a ( good deal ) would you buy cast over jacketed? 5) what's a good price per lead bullet, if it was very good quality? 6) if you had someone meet you at a range or delivery over shipping through mail, would you be a repeat customer? Thank you for your help
IronEqualizer
1. 45 acp.....230gr RNFP 2. None....I cast my own 3. Yes.....very few individuals I would trust for this 4. in 45 maybe......I only shoot jacketed bullets in matches as I do not want to deal with the smoke in a match.....shooting through barrels or a very humid morning and you are at a disadvantage 5. last I purchased about 3 yrs ago was $30 per 500 delivered to the range the same quality as my own 6. if a company uses USPS flat rate boxes then shipping is not an issue to me AL
heavy metal
I shoot uspsa, and I use cast bullets. I can't believe no one else uses cast. Why not with the price being about half and cast being available. Do u think there is an advantage with jacketed? U know with a soft lube there is virtually no leading, if that's the issue. Please tell why do you not like cast?
High Lord Gomer
I have some questions for all shooter who use cast bullets:1) what caliber and weight in pistol round do u like best? 124 for 9 and 200 for .402) how many cast lead bullets do u buy and how often?2K-3K per month of either cast or jacketed.3) do u believe it's unsafe to shoot someone elses reloads? And would you?I won't even pick up my own round off the ground unless I am absolutely sure it is mine.4) if you were offered a ( good deal ) would you buy cast over jacketed?Yes...for me, they need to be approx half the cost of the jacketed stuff I get from MG and PD.5) what's a good price per lead bullet, if it was very good quality? For 124s, it needs to be $40/1000. For 200s, $60/1000.6) if you had someone meet you at a range or delivery over shipping through mail, would you be a repeat customer? As long as the cost is close to the same, shipping is not a problem. I bought some just to have them and I will try shooting lead at a later date. Ron

Thank you for your help 1. 200gr .45acp (but I'm experimenting with 185's) 2. I usually get them 1000 at a pop. fyi, With the primer shortage on top of my work schedule, I practice almost exclusively through dry fire, so I'm probably a lot lighter than most in this regard 3. Yes, and no way in hell 4. My 1911 barely knows what a jacketed bullet is 5. $40-45ish for 500 in .45, depending on the bullet weight 6. I'm good friends with my current supplier, so I pick them up from his garage and pay in cash; the savings in shipping costs alone is worth bringing me back
