gunner40sw
I want to start doing minor work and repaiairs on my 1911 s or maybe even build one myself and I wanted to know if anyone has ever tried any of the tapes that are out there. There are a few offered from Brownells I know of. Anybody have any advice on this topic let me know. Thanks Tom
shred
I've seen the AGI tapes on "Building the 1911 Limited/Carry gun Vol 1 (2 tapes)". It's a pretty good run through rebuilding a single-stack 1911 from the bottom up, but production values could definately stand for some improvement, and it's no substitute for hands-on experience. It would be a lot better on DVD with a good index. Several of the demonstrated steps require mill work and custom jigs.
chunger
I tried the AGI tapes as well. . . along with Kuhnhassen's books, I was able to get up to speed from having never seen a 1911 in short order. -'Chung
