G-ManBart
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/1911_Single_Stack.pdfProhibited Modifications or features:3. Full length dust covers of carbon or stainless steel. 4. Slide lightening. (Removal of metal from the slide is permitted only for the following: front and rear sights, front and rear cocking serrations, and flat topping and serration of the slide) 5. External modifications such as weights or devices to control or reduce recoil. 6. Pistols produced with attachment points for external lights or optics. I like the full dustcover look a lot too, but it's explicitly forbidden unless it's an Aluminum alloy or Titanium. This ends up prohibiting the sharp-looking Monolith. Great, now we're going to see someone come up with a steel frame that has a Ti, Al, carbon fiber or polymer full length dust cover just to mess with people Actually, I'm sorta surprised nobody has come up with something like that. Steel frame with a lug that an interchangeable dust cover attaches to. You could have a steel dust cover, a polymer one with a light rail etc, etc...just switch them out for whatever task is at hand. Nik Habicht
Everybody should probably keep in mind that the rules from the .pdf document that have been quoted extensively in this thread are no longer part of the rule book. You're looking at part of the draft rules for the (then) provisional Single-Stack division. Those rules have been replaced by the division rules in the current rulebook and any official interpretations issued since....
technetium-99m
What about this guy, if the dustcover was cut to a Govt. length?
bofe954
What about this guy, if the dustcover was cut to a Govt. length? If the dustcover was cut, it'd be fine. Provided it makes weight when it's done.
