jmorris
I found a photo of one of these and thought it would be neat to have one but I thought $480 was a bit exessive so I built one. Thought some of you guys/gals might find it interesting. Video http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/jm...nt=annealer.flv It’s hard to capture the amount of annealing done the two photos are of the same cases in different lighting. The annealed case (right) looks just like the ss109 I had on hand. Now it just needs a frame/basket and adapted to work with the Dillon case feeder. kevin c
Nice! Question - can you overanneal a case? Just as you can overwork a case and harden the brass to the point of failure, can you overheat a case so that the metal is too soft?
9supercomp
Yes you can over heat the brass, look here for more info http://www.6mmbr.com/annealing.html
jmorris
That is a good article in the link above. You can over do it and ruin the case or under do it and change nothing. The speed is adjustable to get it just right. I’ve had a few guys, looking to build one ask me about the “saw” part. Its CNC laser cut from 1/8” steel plate. This form is not for selling stuff so if you’re interested in one send me a PM. Edited March 9, 2009 by jmorris
Jeff686
Does it save energy by powering your clothes dryer too?
