sleipnir
What's the difference. I can get a 450 rather cheaply. What am I losing? I already have a 650 and a SD so I don't know how badly I want the 450, but it is so cheap.
TeamGE
It does not have a removable tool head. Otherwise it is the same as a 550 in design and operation.
chirpy
I had an early 450 and I had to manually push/pull the primer arm to pick up a primer and the same for the powder drop. I don't know if the later 450's are more like the 550 without the changeable toolhead or not. You might check the setup to see. I have since converted my 450 to 550. You might check with Dillon on that conversion also. FWIW Richard
uscbigdawg
The 550 is about 100 better. Rich
revchuck
What's the difference. I can get a 450 rather cheaply. What am I losing? I already have a 650 and a SD so I don't know how badly I want the 450, but it is so cheap. Both the primer and powder stations are manually operated. I converted mine to 550 specs, and the conversion was almost the same price as a new 550. Still, you can get into a rhythm with it and pump out rounds at a decent pace. Lower the handle all the way down, work both the primer feed and powder measure, then raise the handle back up. If it's cheap, go for it. Also, it's still covered by Dillon's warranty, so if something breaks, they send you the part free.
