Nemo
In the last bucket-o-brass I got, I've found a bunch marked *I*. What is it?

Rufftytuffty
I also just picked up about a dozen or so in my latest range visit. Although i'm pretty sure its not a casing problem but all the *I*'s had smoke marks down just one side. What causes this? is it ok to reload? ~Mike Edited January 21, 2009 by Rufftytuffty
ShooterSteve
That brass does not cycle well through my 650. The primers don't want to punch out clean, so there is a lot of it that I pick up that gets tossed if it won't go through the machine without messing up. I asked a question about this brass a few months ago and a lot of people had problems with it, but a lot of people had good luck with it. The other side is that most good brass, most everyone has good luck with it. I do load in .40, so this .45 brass may be different.
Nemo
Problem I've seen with CCI brass is that the decapping pin will punch out the primer but will also pull it back in the pocket. The solution I learned here to fix this is to polish the tip of the decapping pin. Still happens some with the 40 brass but very seldom with 45s. High Lord Gomer
I had that problem with CCI primers in mixed headstamp range brass I reloaded. I don't use CCI primers any more because of that.
