trickpony
Does anyone have any good recomendations for a new semi auto youth shotgun? I was looking at the Remington's, either an old 1100 youth 20 ga with 24" barrel but was told to look at the youth model "escort" by Legacy International - 20 ga, 22" barrel, buttstock similar to the synergy ... Anybody have any experience good or bad with the Legacy Intl. products?? Thanks.

My wife is 5'2" and 105lbs at most so the weight of a lot of shotguns was too much for her. The CD was the lightest auto I could find. Haven't put a ton of ammo through it, but it's worked perfectly with birdshot, slugs and smaller buck like #4. It's got a 3" chamber, interchangeable chokes and weighs 5 3/8lbs. So far I'm pretty impressed for such an inexpensive shotgun (half the price of an 11-87 Youth.
HSMITH
Browning Gold 20 or a 391 20. Spend the money now and get a shotgun that will last a lifetime.
CJDOUBLETAP
Youth Remington 1187 20 gauge. They are pretty light weight and shoot slugs pretty good if you are going to hunt with it. My brother started using one when he was only about 70lbs and it worked fine for him.
trickpony
Thanks for the rec's guys - good stuff I currently have a 1100 LT20 Youth but it's a tad heavy for my oldest. I found a deal on a A391 youth model that seems to be an excellent piece and I'll have to take a look at the Charles Daly's.

Good= It has been very reliable with Wally World Winchester It is very light, but recoil was soft It comes with spacers to adjust length of pull. (this was nice as we adjusted it to fit him to test drive and then fit her) Bad= It is a pain to load additional shells in the magazine. Bolt release on left side has to be held to load additional shells Ugly= It's not a bad looking shotgun , other than the recoil pad it funky looking . Fit and finish is fair.
