RangerTrace
For some reason, I am on a roll of stripping hex head grip screws on my SS 1911s. In the last three weeks, I've done it three times. I've never had this problem before. I was using a Brownell's screwdriver with a hex head bit the first two times. So today, I used the wrench supplied with the brand new Wilson grip screws. It seemed like a perfect fit and still stripped one. Anyone else having this problem? I don't think I am overtightening them. I just get them snug and go a little farther. Not like a lug nut or anything, just tight. It seems more like a bad fit between the wrench and the screw to me. I realize it is not rocket science, but it is still kicking my butt.

I'll give that a shot. How hard are they to remove with the blue locktight? I always remove my grips when I clean my 1911s.

Not hard, the blue only fills the voids in the threads so they don't loosen, it won't lock them down like red would.
Jaxshooter
Tighten them with an allen wrench with the long leg in the screw. Use two fingers to tighten it until it is snug and quit. Also use the blue locktite.
