Square Deal B or 550

Recommended Posts

I started out on a Lee Turret, soon got pissed with that and got a SDB, loved it. Shot 1000 minimum a month for a few years (still own it). Bought a 550 for another calibre and now I am hooked. Load rate basically the same. You can pick specialty dies if needed. I can load at about the same rate (depending on calibres) on either machine in reality.

550 way better for non standard calibres and rifles. If required, it can still be used as a single stage press, as a sepearte priming machine, powder measure and then bullet seating.

The main advantage of the SDB is low cost, good reliability and small size.

The advantages of the 550 are, huge variety of calibres that can be run. Better size and accessibility. Std thread dies for non standard calibres. Single stage use if needed.

So it all balances out.
