really did not know if I should post here or on the Glock page. I tried a search but started getting dizzy after the the 6th page.

Just wanted to know if there is a reason for concern if using Precision bullets with a factory Glock barrel.

Thanks in advance, John

This is from Precision's FAQ...

Q: Can I use Precision Bullets in my Glock?

A: Yes and No. We have many Glock shooters using Precision Bullets in factory Glock barrels with great results. However, I tell all Glock shooters it is try and see. If you have tried plated bullets and accuracy was good without keyholing, then ours should be fine. If you have tried traditional cast lead bullets and accuracy was good after 200+ rounds without heavy fouling, then our bullets will work fine and shoot a lot cleaner.

If your Glock won’t shoot Precision Bullets, then it will have problems fast—heavy fouling in 50 to 100 rounds, very poor accuracy, keyholing, etc. Then you will have to stick with jacketed bullets. However, this is very rare.

I use a black moly coat bullet made by Rudy Warren owner of "Billy Bullets". I have had NO leading issues in either my G17 or G35. And thats with something over 15K fired. Rudy has explained to me and many others that his bullets and stock Glock barrels do just fine together. He's right. Can't speak to the quality of Precision though I hear many good things about them from forum members. I suggest you test a hundred of them per caliber you use. A chronograph is a must. Start with a super clean bore. Watch for any increase in velocity as your round count increases. Is round 20 higher than 10? Is 30 higer than 20? etc. If so thats a sure sign that leading is accuring and pressure is on the rise. Stop using them. Clean the barrel and use jacketed or maybe plated. Be careful.

I shot several thousand precision bullets through a G17 and G34 and never had an issue with them. The bore stayed shiny and all I ever did was run a bore-snake through it occasionally.
