lsystems
I've used VV N310 in 45 acp and 40 s&w successfully (used 4.0 grains w/230 FMJ and 4.3grains w/200 grain FMJ respectively, both made major) but have never used it in a minor 38 super load. I have some 125 grain FMJ bullets I would like to load in a minor load. Does anyone have a suggested starting weight? thanks in advance!
38superman
I really can't see using N310 in a 38 Super. It's just way too fast. I don't have the facts to back this up, but I suspect you couldn't begin to make major without dangerously high pressures. You might be able to make it work for minor power factor but I'm sure there are more suitable powders around. The best advice I can give: Forget about it. superdude
38superman is right. i've used 310 in the super and it is waaaaay too fast. even for minor loads i was pushing the limit on pressure. i had to switch to rifle primers. this is a bad sign. save it for your 45, its a great powder for that.
