IMR 4064 and Varget have always worked for me. 175gr Sierra 4064 - 44.4grains = 2600fps in 24-26" barrel Varget - 40grains = 2450fps, as above. I found that if you go to much more accuracy went to crap. 168gr Sierra W748 - 46.8grains BLC2 - 45grains V V N550- 47grains IMR4064 - 44.7grains H380 - 48.2grains All these will get to just under or on 2700fps in 26". All tested in a Barnard 300m prone rifle 26" SS Match Barrel. All shot sub 1.25" of a bench at 300M. Zero wind and a BIG scope. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Og Posted January 26, 2003 Share Posted January 26, 2003 Hey Cowboy, Here is my old Hi-power standard for 308 168gr hpbt Sierra Matchking 40.5gr IMR 4895 Win Primer Oal 2.800 I think that 2600 fps was about right for this load out of my old Springfield M1A supermatch.
