Tried to join IDPA yahoo Group Update.

I received a reply to my email today that I felt compelled to share. Here is the reply I received from them, after expressing my displeasure with the response to my initial inquiry.

Sounds like I first received a automated message, that caught me wrong. I am now compelled to try IDPA as soon as my elbow heals up.

Guys! The reason it's changed is because there's been a huge amount of spam in the newsgroup. The only way to stop it is to make it a moderated group.

I maintain a little support forum for software I sell.

I was getting so many spambot registrations and postings for Viagra, porn, mortgages, etc., that I wound up installing a patch that requires someone to answer a relatively easy question before getting posting rights.

I sympathize with the yahoo group and understand their decision.
