salemons Posted March 22, 2008 Share Posted March 22, 2008 I have a Lee Load Master doing 9mm, 38, 357 & 223 on. Mostly 9mm, shooting about 350 each month. My brother in law has an old 450 he isn't using. I offered to take it off his hands. I think its setup for 45 now but I would probably do my 9mm on it. gm iprod Posted March 27, 2008 Share Posted March 27, 2008 A Dillon 450 will cost about $230 to bring it up to the same specifications as a 550, but if you are going to load 9mm you will need a conversion kit and dies ($110). So in theory nothing really, if you buy the 450 and upgrade it and then convert it it will be very nearly the same as the price of a new 550, I would either load on the 450 as is and convert to 9mm (cheapest way), or buy a new 550 complete ($410).
